the goal is learn the craft, and in 2 months you havent even learned half of it. in 2 months you havent learned proper form yet, even if you have you havent learned how to side step, how to pivot, how to create angles, how to fient, how to roll, how to pull, how to catch and shoot, how to parry, how to set traps, etc etc lmfao you barely learned how to fire off combos on command let alone master thee craft in 2 months.

in 2 months if you in the ring it with another person your level or around their and you guys are practicing on ONE particular thing like the pull counter or some**** lol having a real sparring match with a pro 2 months in is ****** and the trainer is ******.
You're overthinking what I'm saying here... doesn't necessarily have to be a pro I said sparring in general you just like arguing huh?

I've been in gyms where they put noobs in sparring matches a few days after they join

arguing that ¨if you're a noob, better get your ass kicked by a guy with experience, you won't learn anything from another noob¨
You can say it's soft but it's prob the correct method. I agree with everything Ray Corso said in this thread. I had the same mentality when I first walked in, I wanted to go in on the first day and jump in the ring. You have to realize that even with 6 months of training you walk into that ring you can be against a guy who has been training for years and has done this dozens of times at that point. So you still are a "noob". They try to work you with guys on your level at first but it doesn't always happen.

I can tell by the posts in this section that there is a clear difference between guys who have been in the gym with coaches that actually want to teach and guys who are just boxing fans.

Damn right, started sparring a week after learning how to box. No pads and bags gonna help you learn the real thing. Since i was a kid i've been fighting in the streets anyways, that's why my coach took a liking into my boxing until a month after. Depends on you when you want to compete, I've been sparring a pro with a 21-1-4, 13 KO and learn 10x faster than those who want to compete but don't want to spar with the pro. And you Learn how to hit and not get hit, dude seriously aims at my chin tho lol, wobbles my whole body.

My coach said that you should compete when you could actually score great against a pro in your gym, mind the word "Score".

P.s. anything you learn except throwing and learning to hit is useless without sparring.

Peace, stay safe and keep it up
