The bag is just a tool to help develop skill.
Your hands need to be protected by wrapping properly along with quality gloves that fit properly.
Your technique is a huge part of avoiding injuries, making sure your not locking out at impact and that your fists are into the "meat" of the bag (bag isn't spinning)
However working full power everyday isn't needed, if it's important to you work every other day mixing in combinations and speed the days in between.

Two days off the heavy a week is also a good practice (Tues & Sat) or any two evenings that include sparring.

Resting body parts is always a smart idea.

Yes, its why many boxers develop shoulder issues from years of punching the bag. I say mix up the tempo dont always,go full blast just touch it and get your cardio in

Hey there man! , it depends when your pinky hurts then it means you have bad technique. it's all about having a "snap" in the bag not the power punches, personally i would train on my upper punches (a proper one) first to the body, because jab and cross/straights are just easy to learn.

Footwork man, when you go to a bag just put a plan in your head. put faints and move around and jab then hook or upper. just pure technique, put in a few snap shots then power shot is all

Damaging to your skill maybe. You could be doing better things with your time.

Guys who spend an enormous amount of time "power punching the bag" are ****ty boxers who don't really have any skill set. Any dummy can beat on a bag for a long time. Juggynutz is the number one example. Check out his video it is pretty hilarious.

At least I got you to admit that your "gym" is LA Fitness which sure explains alot!

How many times do you actually fight people that you challenge on the internet that live all the way on the other side of the country? Do people really waste money just to fly out to you and knock you out?
