  • Can heavy bag be damaging?

I am hitting heavybag everyday day, 6 rounds with full power, one round lenght is 3mins and resting only 15 seconds during rounds.
So my question can it be damaging? Can it damage me somehow? Like my punching power gonna be weaker and shi, I read somewhere that, just curious.

You can hurt your ligaments. No doubt. Will you? Depends on a number of things.
Be sure to wrap properly and use good gloves. As well as good form.

The question you should be asking yourself is:
"Why am I hitting the heavy bag 6 rounds with 15 second rest periods with full power?"

Will you damage anything in the short term probably not, but long term, yes.

Going full on power EVERY TIME you hit the bag is counterproductive - no mater how you look at it. You need to vary your intensity, your rest periods, and your technique as well as the amount of power you're putting into your punches.

I'm not sure what your experience is in boxing or how long you've been competing or training, but you need to have a balanced approach to your training protocol. Going full throttle on the bag every time you hit it is not a balanced approach, and you will burn yourself out physically.

punching the heavy bag is not damaging because punching bags dont hit back...carry on

I am doing this like, six months right now. Sometimes I am going 12 rounds with not full power trying to throw combinations fast as I can, and about damaging my wrists and other stuff, never had this before. I am just wanna know if this is not gonna affect my punching power, footwork, technique or some other stuff, I am pretty sure I am doing it well.

Your technique probably sucks, so ya, you'll probably hurt yourself.

I think heavy bag is not damaging when you try attaching it to the wall...

Even this "sport" can be damaging on your fingers, let alone punching.

Always punch with good technique, if you don't attend a local gym, video yourself and check the mistakes and the bad habits.

As I said I am pretty sure I am doing it well. when I get inside with my opponent he can't do nothing, my two amateur fights ended in 1 round, first fight in 8 seconds ref stopped the fight. Check my training routine, I posted it in this forum.

Hitting the bag with full power is probably not necessary. It's more to work on form and movement without being hit back, in my opinion. Your joints will be taking a beating with time. Try punching in quantity and substitute power with speed.
