  • Knuckle Padding - Hand wrap

Do you guys have some tips / experience to share with extra padding on your hand wrap?

I heard some guys use, beside gauze padding, toilet paper.

I´m also keen to buy the winning knuckle guard.

As far as extra padding goes, yeah gauze and toilet paper work.

I'll just make a gauze handwrap and use that for a little while. Otherwise just use the gauze/toilet paper and wrap it around your knuckles about like 12-18 times, cut it, fold it in half, then you're good.

The winning knuckle guards are alright, they've sent them for free in almost every order I've had lol. The cons is that they slide around too much, as well as they don't make for good bars.

So I shouldn´t ship them over from japan for a total of 40$ and just use toilet paper instead, right?

I mean, I don't really care for them. The gel they use is actually really cool, but the fabric on the outside almost negates it. Plus a prefer to have a bar with my hand wraps.

I prefer to completely discard the blue band.

          You're left with 2 layers, a latex-rubber layer and a gel layer.

The Winning knuckle guards are amazing. I play fingerstyle guitar and can't afford to fk up my hands. They pretty much eliminate soreness after hard heavy bag training. If they shift on you, you're not wrapping them right. Ignore what Winning says, put them on first, in front of the knuckles, and then wrap, going between each finger at least once.
I got mine for $25 on Amazon. Just keep an eye out.

hey bro! just use toilet paper on the knuckles and your regular hand wrap on it

I have winning knuckles gard and its great I use it on the regular days

but If Iam doing something heavy and sparring then toilet paper all the way "roll

it 20-30 times then fold it" its by far the best protection for the knuckles I ever

              tried till now

I also add some on the my wrist " Ihave a small wrists" and I get some pain when

I hit hard on the bag ,

I'll have to retry them. Last I tried them I felt my hands were too small so they'd slide around (at the time I was fighting at 119). Granted, I wasn't quite as educated on wrapping hands as I am now. Also remember them being difficult to put on under gloves because the gel won't conform as naturally as gauze/toilet paper. 16 oz gloves seemed to be the only that worked almost seamlessly.

                  So in conclusion:

Winning Knuckle Guards are good, but definitly not worth 37€(40~$).

Toilet paper should does its job while still being cheap, right?

In certain gloves, they may not fit. I'm using them in 14oz Winnings, full-length wraps or two med length wraps, and my hands are xl/xxl. Just be sure to put them in front of the knuckle when you start or they will be on your metacarpals and worthless. Since you have morewrappingexperience now, I'm sure you'll find a way to make them work. Took me a bit of time but was really worth it. They were all over the place at first but never move now.

Also, guys be careful about your applied power when you first use them. Not feeling any impact inthe knuckles can make you throw incredibly hard punches and if you're on a 70+ lb bag, you must be careful to not roll your wrist or anything like that when you're swinging that hard.
