Winning Knuckle Guards are good, but definitly not worth 37€(40~$).

Toilet paper should does its job while still being cheap, right?
the knuckle-gard is just convenient and it takes less time to wrap your hand with

it .. the toilet-paper on the other hand great protection but it takes some time to

prepare it and wrap your hand with it ,, most of the times I have to rewrap my

hand in the process to make it perfect ..

if you got some 20$+ to spare yes get its good protection and very convenient its

    not bad

but if you train seriously for competition then just use the toilet paper

The levels of protection are also wildly different. The amount of TP required to equal what the 1/2" of gel does would never fit in a glove. Plus, if you count the time spent folding TP every time you train, it's really more expensive if your time is worth anything. Not to put you down if that's what you prefer but I personally can't see any benefit to it.

yes I totally agree about the amount of TP vs gel .. I wasn't talking scientifically here I was saying what was better according to my personal experience
Iam 125pound and using cleto ryes 16oz glove they have a empty gap between your fingers and the padding of the glove so when I use 30roll of TP it fits great
the winning knuckle-gard is good i use it most of the time but not the same feeling I get with TP
when I wrap my hand properly with TP I i can hit the wall with my hand wraps without feeling pain "not full power tho :P"
the only thing about it is time consuming

I think the only advantage to TP is the anatomical conformity to your specific hand.

But those gel things are incredible when it comes to shock absorption. I'll whip them out every now and then when someone finds them and asks what they are. I just slip it on and start hitting the corner of tables lol.

Just buy longer wraps and make sure you're landing properly.

Gel wraps are more for boxercise classes.
The design allows u to slip them on in seconds, good for office workers starting in a lunchbreak.
If u get some card, cereal box & cut it to the size of your knuckles. Wrap gauze around the card, you'll have to be able to get the card out at the end. Tape up the edges, not too much.
You should have padded gauze bespoke to your knuckle size.
Place across knuckles & wrap as you would, Gotta be better than messing about with toilet roll.
The amount of gauze you use depends on how much protection you want & what gloves you use. If you make it too thick you'll struggle to get your gloves on.
You can reuse the gauze pads, just let it dry out with your wraps
