My advice would be: Solidify your defense FIRST.

      What would be yours?
Do lots of roadwork(accomplishes 2 things:keeps your weight down and gives you stamina). Everybody wants to focus on fancy training techniques but if you can't keep your hands up after 30 seconds of sparring you're gonna get your butt kicked.

Technique, technique, technique....Conditioning and strength training is important but anyone can do those exercises. Technique for a beginner is the most important aspect. Focus on throwing punches correctly, maintaining the proper stance, practicing footwork and defense.

Learn to dance first. Punching later.
Be passionate about it, not emotional.

Give it your all, or don't go at all.

Learn your weaknesses first, don't fall in love with your strengths.

          When love fails, weakness remains!

          Peace!

One piece of advice I have is BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERTRAIN.

Working out too much, too hard, too often, and not allowing your body to rest will hinder progress. And in some cases, you actually may get worse.

Without a real boxing trainer you'll do it all wrong! Find a trainer.

What, you mean for a first fight??

Fact is, most of what they have learned wont be locked in reflexively, it will still be cerebral. Therefore the reality is that once **** gets rough for real, it's largely gonna go out the window so the KISS (Keep It Simple ******) principle should be applied.

On my first fight, my coach told me to keep my chin down, guard up, elbows in and punch straight. Good advice and I even remembered a few things in addition but all beginners need a "shell" to be able to resort to like a covered up 1-2 when they feel overwhelmed.
