One piece of advice you'd give to a beginner?

I never heard of any ray corso being an associate of Mike Tyson either... if you google ray corso, you don't get much from a self proclaimed big shot in the game.

Not to harp on this fool but he does it to everyone else and continues to involve me....what has he been on here for 3/4 years? I don't even know, i know he was the first dope I spotted that's for sure ! Outside of beginner advice and some old school fighters stories he has nothing really but out dated opinionated self righteous b.s posts to make himself SEEM smart, the smarter posters see through his b.s unforunatly not many of them are on here....

Beyond the trainer ,invest in good equipment, quality helps. Spend the money!A great pair of Gloves goes a long way .....shoes/head gear/mouth piece all of it! you want to perform at top level so don't cut corners.

You guys seem very certain that Ray Corso is a nobody in boxing. Lots of disrespect and name calling towards him. So why not take him up on his challenge?

You betray yoourself with the rudimentary advice you offer which is not from a perspective of an experienced boxing person pretty clearly.

You are a grumpy old fella that didn't make it, with nephews who learned how to photoshop fake licences, and so you've positioned yourself as some sort of sage sprouting stuff you know would appeal to youthful, unsuspecting minds mainly to make yourself feel important.

I was a cheapskate when I was a kid and never invested in a good pair of boots until later on.

To be accurate, boots wont make you a great boxer, the kid in sandshoes and other cheap **** can often be seen kicking the rich kids ass with all the equipment.

However, as we're talking progressive here, the moment you DO invest in a good pair of boots there's an instantaneous improvement in footwork and agiliy.

They allow you to grip the floor for planting shots and traction to resist slipping but also allow for free twisting/screwing action that you can't achieve with sneakers. You also get a more natural feel for the floor.

Of the things you mentioned Jugs I highly second and recommend the boots as being among the most important pieces of equipment.

I know of atleast a few nostalgic/nationalist posters here, who I will refrain from calling "nutbags" because they are actually really knowledgeable and respectful, who even though sympathise with many of Ray's basic ideas, can't seem to stand his condoscending nature and also deeply suspect his fakeness.

They have claimed they do not wish to enter into any form of rhetoric with him and so that's why they aren't heard from much on the issue, suffice to say he is unliked by some of his own camp.

Quite sad actually.
