An opponent could feint and make you move your hand just a little which would open it up even more and then its lights out.

Still, I want to train boxing where it is more applicable in real life rather than only in the glove worn environment.

Then you want to do MMA. Boxing MIGHT help if you're just gonna be doing Toe to toe and no ground.

Street fight is a totally different game. MMA should help with that since its standing and ground.

Then what I said before still applies. Without gloves you are vulnerable even more than with gloves.

Not interested in training street fighting. Just a matter of a direction in how I want to train boxing.

Also, I've seen an MMA fight where you can avoid ground fight & avoid kicks.

When you fight against MMA with boxing, you can avoid ground like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5J0odQ909c

You can also avoid kicks like this or by stepping sideways in circle instead of back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PewAxLuChpw

No, without gloves, when you get punched at the back of your fist, your bone is damaged. So, you have to use the bottom of the fists & move around to adjust with reflex (plenty of time for such short adjustments).

I've been in plenty of fights and never once broke a hand punching the guy in the face.

No, from getting punched at the back of a fist. The metacarpals.

Besides, I am only boxing for hobby. I am not really looking for pro-boxing. I never wanted to get into pro-boxing. I don't even have to go to boxing gyms but do my hobby at home alone with a punching bag. It is just that the only reason I am going to a boxing gym is that I am forced to. Not because I want to.

I have been punched in the back of my hand in a street fight. It doesn't break your hands unless you have old woman hands.

Oh. Still. The bottom of your fist is better for being punched at. The muscles are thick. Besides, the bottom of the fist hurts less (pain factor).
