Normal play is alot different the organized training on a childs body.

I do agree that balance, hand positioning, leg movement and head and waist moves can be taught but keep the sessions very short. Kids don't see any importance in those techniques they want to box!

You really need a trainer who knows how to teach kids and is experienced with an amateur program. This is not easily found these days.
    Where are you located?

Sorry for the late reply Ray only just seen this now...i'm located in the UK, England and yeah there's loads of gyms close by with kids classes and i know that should well be my first port of call to take them but as of right now i don't really have the time to do so but will hopefully be doing that very soon.

Whenever i get the chance to do so i take them on the pads for a little while trying to show them the very basics and then i'll make them just work on their reflexes a bit by staying in their stance and blocking my shots to the body and head just to try and get them used to keeping a tight guard at all times.

I am starting to notice quite a bit of improvement in them such as when they throw their shots now they are always keeping their other hand up rather than letting it drop etc which i do have to admit is a very good feeling when seeing something you try and teach them start working but i know and accept that if they are to get even to amateur standard they need to be put into a proper boxing gym asap.

We have a member here "the Authority" who is a trainer in your counrty that could suggest programs in your area. His son was boxing junior division and he handles fighters in amateur and pro corners.
What you first teach is what will stay with a child, just like his own bad habits left unchecked what you do right and wrong will be imprinted.

You personally should not be allowed to brainwash any kids or, with your completely outdated methods, be allowed to handle the training of any minors...

        Not under any circumstances!

You're normally one of the few I respect on here...

But don't do the whole chest puffing act.

I'm NOT puffing my chest its just who I am.
When I give advise I want people to know I have the credentials because they're not going to understand that I know my business from reading my comments because they have no background in the sport.
I'm not bragging I'm simply stating my past and my career in the sport.

Well I don't particularly respect him that much on here because SOMETHING doesn't quite add up does it Ray!

I've disclosed my far lesser accolades than your ALLEGED ones enough times, the real question though is how can you expect anybody to SWALLOW such tripe?

You claimed to have personally trained young fighters from 12 to 18 right?

Then WHY did they not go on to be all world beaters then today of, as you claim, nobody knows how to box anymore?

There are no more good trainers left but YOU were a good trainer..

Nobody can box these days but YOU produced good boxers????

Catch 22 Ray, it's been put to you before and you've never been able to formulate a coherent answer!

If boxing is really a lost art today, but you yourself claim to have all the knowledge then you would be the most sought out resource for that missing link, but instead, you can't even remember you lied to me about your name!!

                Your exposed old man!

You should be eliminated from this section!

I don't claim all the knowledge....you claim I have all the knowledge!
Not every amateur champion moves on to the pro in fact most don't if their life options are fruitfull. I didn't run my program to "produce" pro fighters all youth programs doors aren't open for that. If you had any idea what the gyms are for you'd know that but as I've said many times ypou know NOTHING about the entire picture of the sport. You know NOTHING about its beginnings it's nature and its finality because you NEVER experienced any of it you lil' *****!

......"you can't even remember you lied to me about your name"!!

                  Explain?

                  Ray

..........Tell me elroid, tool boy etc..............what have you done, or plan to do.....

no time for you boy, to beautiful of a day to bother vwith your BS....

Elroy has probably never even had a fight in his life let alone trained anyone. The amount of boxing knowledge he has couldn't fill a thimble.
