Listen up you ****s. I'm fighting June 7th for my amateur debut and I'm ****ting bricks. Should I be sparring more or less for the next month? I was going to train for a year but this is happening. Yeah I would ask my trainer all this but Sunday's are my day off so give me a hand.

The first sentence made me lose my ***** haha! Caught me off guard. Just spar as much as you reasonably can. Not too much and not too little. Then just lower your intensity and taper off in the last few days before your fight

Just be sure to get off first, get off often and let those hands fly freely when ever the opportunities present themselves. This is important, control your breathing before the bout and especially during the bout. New guys tend to hold their breathe and are tense causing them to lose valuable oxygen and energy.
Good luck and let us know, ****...............Last edited by Rockin'; 05-02-2015, 05:37 PM.

Train for explosiveness, some might disagree with this but I feel long distance running for amateurs is a waste of time. Do your interval sprints and work the bag on explosive intervals as well. You should be sparring quite regularly, as long as you're not hurt in anyway there's no reason to stop sparring.
Remember that stamina is probably the most important thing at this level. Hope it goes well you ****.
