Go slowly. You risk injury if you pile it on. Having to take time off to heal will return you to a steady diet of deep fried mars bars and apple cider. Its not worth it.

One more quistion ,, im a skinny little **** weighing in at 61 kgs.. Ive got good speed and power but want to lift weights say 3 days a week to put on some lean muscle,, how much is that going to affect my power/speed and boxing abilty overall ?

Say arms one day, chest/back another and legs and shoulders on the last day.. I always do my core work with my boxing.

Anyways when i turned 16 i completely changed my life. I gave up boxing , started smoking cigs/weed, drinking and partying as much as possible. I havent done any cardio or exercise bar some weightlifting since and am currently still smoking.

Recently ive found myself thinking about boxing a lot and have to decided to to go into town buy some gloves and hit the heavy bag at my gym later.

I would love to compete but realistically how much have i set myself back here?

Just wanna say got some serious nostalgia logging on here seeing some of the posts. Ive got two videos of me fighting which got a nice bit of attention on this i can link it if theres an interest.
Man im in the same situation i been training since i was 7 fighting since i was 12, been out the gym for 18 months due to work commitments and i feel like im gonna struggle going back, spoke to one of my coaches the other day and he said dont take it so serious at first he said just come back and enjoy it, cant wait to get back in their and get in fighting condition again

You'll be amazed how noble the human body is when you take care of it, even when you've done terrible things to it.

My dad's buddy was a a pretty heavy drinker when he was younger until his late 40s. He quit drinking but hes diet was shit for some good years. During that time my dad became sick, his cholesterol levels were really high and he was fat. My dad began to run and eat properly and he told his friend to do the same. My dad's friend took up running just like my dad and now in their early 60s they habitually run half marathons and train once a year to run full marathons.

You're 19 bro, just take it step by step and you can turn your life around with dedication.
