Mayweather, Barrera, De La Hoya, Castillo, e.g. people with both offense and defense. Hopkins is a good technical fighter, but too defensive....

This is about textbook. NOT WHO you think is a good boxer.

no one fights like Roy jones so he can't be textbook. Unique to himself with lead rights and left hooks.
Same for Mayweather or Winky Wright. Their style aren't common. How many people you see having winky's style at all. PBF does have great technique but his style is unconventional and i see so many guys getting knocked using it.

Good example of textbook is Julio Cesear Chavez, Alexis Arguello, Vernon Forrest, Barrera, Eric Morrales, Hagler, and Hopkins. They did everything good but nothing extremely great. They could brawl, box, counter, **** to the body, hit for power or for combinations, had good ring generalship, clean footwork, and good decent defense.

I can't put DLH becuase he changes his style in many of his fights but he could be on this list as well

The best text book fighter is without doubt Ricardo "Finito" Lopez! He retired undeafeated and defended his world title over 20 times.

Does Sugar Shane Mosley count? He seems to have all the basic fundamentals down pat. Complete package

I would have to say a guy with some great fundamental technique that you would teach a youngster is Yuri Foreman. Good guy to emulate as a pure boxer if that is what your looking for. another is Calderon and also Ricardo Lopez.
