Might as well remove one lung as well because I dont need it.

I guess I can smoke crack and meth too.

You have to be Fing kidding me.

Some of these responses are laughable
If you smoke a lot yes you can decrease your lung capacity to the point where it's detrimental to your performance. When you get gassed it's due to your cardiac output not keeping up with demand. When this happens your muscles utilize anaerobic metabolic pathways more, which produce lactate among other things. When you rest after gassing your body uses oxygen to convert the lactate back into pyruvate and glucose and then you're recovered.

The blood that your heart pumps through your lungs is fully saturated with oxygen if your lungs are in decent shape but it's not getting to your muscles at a fast enough pace to carry enough oxygen to them.

There's no need for straw men here.

Potheads will always be advocates for more pot. There will be some bogus story I'm sure saying how marijuana cures Ebola or some ****. I'm not anti either...just don't sell it as snake oil.

Tried snorting it but it just gets caught up the ol' wheezers. So I copied what the guy does on the corner of my street and cooked a bit of marijuana in a spoon. I tripped so bad off those fumes. First time I ever got high, I am definitely addicted, looking thru rehab websites atm

nah, not the entire time but by the time it wears off, my mind is already off into militant mode and there's no stopping.

Post-workout marijuana allows for better rest, and thus better recovery... Thereby building muscle tissue. This is where your muscles will grow, and gains will be made - while you're resting, particularly sleeping. You gotta allow your muscles at least 24 hours of rest before hitting them again. For a particularly intense workout for a muscle group, though, I prefer at least 72 hours. For my legs, I always rest them a full week.

That's about the only pro I can think of.

Cons - contrary to popular belief, while smoking does give you the munchies at first, but if you get in a routine of smoking everyday, you will eventually find your appetite declining... And after 6-8 months of smoking almost on a daily basis, you will find that you have to smoke just to get your regular appetite. And even then, it's hard to get the amount of calories you need if trying to build/maintain lean muscle mass. NOTE: THIS IS ONLY IF YOU SMOKE A LOT, FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME!

It makes you crave the wrong type of foods when you do get munchies. Well, I guess this is too subjective, since I guess it could make some crave baked chicken, and raw veggies...

An aspect that could be a PRO, OR CON: Metabolism rate. It will speed up your metabolism (only if you smoke a lot, for extended period of time. 3 times a week or so and it won't affect your metabolism). The reason why I say this is a con for some, is if you are trying to maintain a certain weight, or even gain weight, you will find it much harder to, because your body will be toasting off the calories you eat at a much faster rate. This, in combination with the aforementioned appetite issues - it will eventually inhibit your appetite, to the point where you have to smoke just to want to eat, and you won't want to eat nearly as much. HOWEVER, if you are a fat ass, and just want to lose weight, then this is a huge plus!

These are just my personal experiences with weed, and working out... I used to smoke at least one blunt a day for like 3 years, and worked out 3-5 times a week, hitting every muscle group once a week (at least). Also did boxing, and running for cardio. Anyway, at first I put on like 8-13 pounds of lean muscle (and anybody who is knowledgeable knows that 10+ pounds of PURE LEAN MUSCLE is not easy to do... I built this up over the period of about 8 months... Then I noticed my appetite started decreasing, and even when I did force myself to eat my necessary caloric intake, I was gradually losing weight... I went from a peak of around 178 (from 165 before working out) @ 11% body fat after 8 months, to all the way down to 155 after another 5-8 months still @ around 11% body fat. My top four abs were visible when flexed, to give you an idea of what 11% body fat looks like. It's not shredded to pieces, but it's a nice, toned look. Anyway, my weight fluctuated between 155 and about 163 over the next 2 years... When I finally quit smoking, my full appetite came back about a week thereafter (for the first three days of quitting I had ZERO appetite.. I literally had to force myself just to eat one sandwich a day.. Also I couldn't sleep for ****! 3 hours a night max).. But after about a week my body, and brain seemed to reset, and appetite and sleep were back to normal.. And only after about 3 months, I put back on 20 pounds of mostly lean muscle, getting back to 178, but this time @ 13% body fat, because I craved a lot of sweets and fattening foods after I got my appetite back... But now I'm back around 175 11% body fat, and I smoke a few times a week, or sometimes none at all for a month... But on average I smoke about a quarter bag (of FIIIIREEE) a month.

SORRY! I know this is a LONG post! But I have so much experience with both smoking, and working out; especially doing the two together for over 3 years. While I'm sure each individual responds differently, here is how it went for me!
