Ok, so when you gas from throwing too many punches a larger lung capacity will not help you recover at all.

You are pretty much saying that I can smoke 2 packs of smokes a day, 20 bongs and it will have no adverse effect on my boxing performance.

Might as well remove one lung as well because I dont need it.

I guess I can smoke crack and meth too.

You have to be Fing kidding me.

Some of these responses are laughable

I see your point where been high and relaxed may improve your focus for lifting.

I can also see why when been high it will relax you more while skipping because the only reason I stop for a rest is because of lactic acid build up in my muscles.

Imo overall I dont think smoking is a good thing for cardio.

        Crack and meth?

        2 packs a day?

        That strawman.

Nobody is saying smoke weed all day, errday, but science already proves that the temporary stamina loss you get is negligible at best. Using video games as an analogy it's like going from a 93 overall, to a 91 overall after smoking. And it goes back to a 93 overall in a very short amount of time.

Plus enough pro boxers have been known to puff up a cigarette from time to time. Monzon and Rigondeaux being the most notable two that I can think of. And Mayorga was still a top level pro puffing cigarettes even though he lost most of his big fights so you can't take that away from him.

Well hedonisticfrog did say that lung capacity only effects elite short distance runners... hence my rant.

The occasional puff of a joint probably isnt that bad but some of the people talking up the benefits of weed seem to be everyday smokers.

If you take 2% off your daily output then that can only be a bad thing imo but when you are competing at a pro or elite level then that can be the difference between winning or losing.

Im not here trying to say that smoking weed is a bad thing but you shouldnt be advising people that smoking weed will help you perform consistently at an optimum level over a long period time.

nah bro, take one good rip and that's all you need. if you take more than 2 rips from like, a water bong, you're staying in the house.

take a toke, run 2 miles work through the transition and post.

            *** lifting.

you're saying that. we've EXPLICITLY stated that it's not for everyone, it benefits some, not all. so kids, take a rip, stretch and hit that black top! it maybe works for you!

Don't know about weed but smoking cigarettes before exercise, whether weight training, sprinting or long distance running has a noticebably detrimental effect on performance.

Smoking before the gym is hit or miss for me. It'll either be one of my best workouts, or one of my worse. I guess even worse, would be talking myself out of going to the gym in the first place.

Played ball like a winner Friday for 3 hours then ran and put in 3 rounds Saturday, all in hi-def.

Now at a bar, having an arrogant bastard beah watching the bears crumble.
