    Teach me some kickboxing, muay-thai.

Someone teach me some kickboxing stuff for heavy bag and uppercut bag. I am doing my boxing and running workouts, now. Maybe 2 hr. per day. But, I would like to add a little bit of kickboxing into it, since I want to learn it and get a full body workout. So, someone teach me some basic kicks and knee moves. Man, if I learn muay-thai, competently, I will feel like a badass. Boxing is mostly upperbody, so kickboxing can be mostly lower body. I don't give a **** about elbows, but I might consider them if it helps my workout. I am hoping it's a good core workout, too. My boxing is good.

P.S - Van Damne is tight. That's another reason I want to learn muay-thai.

Also, my favorite character in Street Fighter is Sagat, since way back to the SNES days. I used to love his technique and he looked like a true fighter.

I would recommend you go to a good Muay Thai gym for a bit. Only a good coach can correct the flaws you will have with technique. It's always best to start off correctly.

Did you learn how to box by the same way?

No, I've been boxing for 7 years, at a local Mexican gym here in Southern California. I've trained with many professional fighters, who have pretty good names on their resumes. So, I learned to pick up the good stuff. I am very attentive to technique, and I have a good fighting spirit. I go hard. We also have muay-thai guys that I've sparred with, but they are not too good with boxing. But, they can take a good ass beating, no offense. I appreciate their heart and guts, and they are good guys. Therefore, I became curious in muay-thai and kickboxing.

So, what is your background in boxing like?

I might consider that. The things is I don't want to try and learn this stuff for another 5-6 years, since this is the time I feel it takes to learn something decently. My background and focus is still in boxing, but I just wanted to pick up a little bit of muay-thai, mostly for self-defense. Yes, I would like to become proficient in it, but I don't know if I am willing to replace boxing with it, in terms of time. Therefore, I just wanted to watch a few fights and instructional videos to observe the technique and apply it in my bag workouts. Honestly, I learned a lot of my boxing technique not from a coach, but from watching fights and training videos of some of the best pros like Ricardo Lopez, Floyd Mayweather, Evander Holyfield, Erik Morales, James Toney, & Mike McCallum. Honestly, you can learn a lot just from watching fights, and who better to emulate then the greatest fighters. I think having a coach is overrated, since anybody can be a coach nowadays.
