are you in shape or jyust fat??

best thing to do is get used to road work, then you can start conditioning...runnign builds stamina, join a gym, and the rest of the stuff will come along slowly (bag work, skipping, all of that training

nobody is "just fat", although he probably has a little too much (don't mean to be derogatory)

I'm 5'10 as well, and the proper weight someone my height should be at is a lean, muscular 170-180 lbs.

let's say he's a body builder, that will take him to maybe 190-200lbs maybe a lil more.

The first thing you should do is go to a boxing gym if it's affordable. Find a good trainer and you will be fine.

If not, it will be difficult to train yourself. but with the internet, a heavy bag, a skipping rope, and maybe a double-end or speed bag, and some hard work (road work, weights, calisthenics, sparring etc.) you can "do it yourself", as they say.

Actually the proper weight for someone who is 5'10 is 160lbs.

You seem ****in heavy, and should probably lose alot more than 30 lbs if you are serious about boxing. But what do i know, you might just be big boned...

You don't choose what weight class you will be in/ Get into fighting shape and see where your weight ends up.

Wow I'm 5'10" and was 217 lbs. with 7% bodyfat when I was fighting and playing linebacker in college. I'm 234 now and don't have much fat. The height/weight charts are ******. They don't take into account the amount of muscle someone has. I am not a bodybuilder type, but there is a lot of muscle. Think Kostya Tzsyu but bigger and broader.

Tyson was short and had a lot of muscle which made him heavy. Tommy Hearns was tall but fought in welter/middle. It depends what build you have.

I recomend to anyone to get into shape and see what weight you fall into.
