  • Calcifying hands

Is there any way to speed up this process or at least help it out in some way?

Overtime I've been getting better but my knuckles get more and more sore now from the same amount of work that I always do and by the time I'm done my training sessions my hands feel like I been bare knuckling the whole time.

To be honest the soreness doesn't bother me, what bothers me is I know I'm causing a lot of micro factures that can lead to a hand injury if they're not calcified in time. Is there any way to speed up this process so my hands are good for the next day? I don't really want to slow down training if there's something I can do about it.

I don't know when you started boxing but when I started boxing, hitting the heavybag for 3-4 rounds straight would make my hand hurt like hell and I'd take 1 full week off the heavybag, only shadowboxing. Then I'd start hitting the heavybag again for a little longer. Sometimes I took 2 weeks off the heavybag.

I also switched my hand-wrap technique and it's 2 times better since than.

Good gloves, technique and handwrap is important.

Now I can hit the heavybag forever and I don't feel a thing.

Edit : I also tried to strenghen my knuckles by doing all my push-ups, burpies, etc (all exercises needing hand on the ground) with my knuckles on the groud, not the palm.

    That's all I know,

    Good luck!

Boxing ain't some kung fu movie. Nobody punches walls, cinder blocks, and wooden planks to "strengthen their hands".

              If you're not a doctor, don't self-diagnose a micro-fracture. You got an X-ray machine at home?

The cure to your symptoms lies within a good pair of gloves, right technique, and wrapping.

Micro fractures happen in your bones anytime they make an impact with something. The bones calcify and become stronger. A lotta Muay Thai people lightly tap their shins with things like sticks and poles to condition em for this very reason.

We need to know how long you've been boxing and extensively using your knuckles. If this soreness is a persistent issue after 2-3+ months of training, it's a completely different type of advice compared to if you started only last week.

Ultimately you want to rest your knuckles for 1-2 days until 90% or all the pain goes away before using it or else you're never giving your hands the time to heal and actually calcify.
