I just truly believe he is at a level now, where i really doubt advice over an internet forum is going to assist him. I think he's gone a bit beyond that now.

I also believe what you've just said then is wrong, so so wrong, that even inexperienced boxers may be able to offer him something in terms of advice.

Clearly he isn't inexperienced himself, so what good taking advice from inexperienced fighters will do, i'm unsure

Like i said, i'm still unsold on this forum at the moment.

I think clearly the kid has got it, he's doing well. And i think there's some people out there, too busy being over analytic and critical trying to prove what they know, rather than being positive and saying 'Kid, you don't need us on here, keep doing what you're doing'

I've already said it. If people want to disagree with what i've said, cool.

There are trainers here from around the world for your information!!
Behave and act respectfull, youir first time here and your telling and active boxer he "doesn't belong here"? This section is where he DOES belong, maybe you need to slide over to where the "fans" are!

Mr ray Corso i dont think you should waste your time replying with this guy. I can see that your trying to help. And if i had the chance to help someone then i would. What i dont get is..why come here if people dont want to discuss boxing. Pro's seek new trainers and advice all the time.

However, on the flip side, you are basically saying that no one on here knows enough to help, which most of us will disagree with.

I have just watched about a minute of the first round. I'm not sure which corner The Razor is in but both lads look very good. However, it's clear both lads could improve in several areas and many inexperienced boxers / coaches could easily provide worthwhile advice.
Im in the red! thanks for your advice

                  THERAZOR87;

Opening bell you moved away from the center of the ring and let your opponent dictate the round. He was "first" the majority of the time and you were inaccurate with your punches.
The second bell you took the center of the ring and then gave it up again!
The second round was the same as the first with you doing a little bit better!
The third round you take center ring and for some weird reason youir opponent chooses to stay on the outside???? Your actually the dominate fighter but you get warned for "inactivity"!!!! You simply got out hustled!!!

Your jab is ok but you need to throw a double jab with POWER and accuracy.
You lean in to often and also start your punches to far away. Your right hand at times is ok when your close but you "loop" it from the outside and theres NO shoulder turn so its NOT a strong punch!
Your movement is good but you don't use it to your advantage. You need to punch off the movement!!! Find some tapes of Ray Leonard moving laterially and jabbing at the same time. You can NOT do this from a safe distance you need to challenge your opponents position!! I like youir style but your methods to win can't be seen! The judges saw no consistant scoring they saw you move away to much in the first two rounds then you did nothing in the third! If you started this fight the way you finished the third round you would have been more competitive and then the judges have a decision to make. You made it easy on them!

Get your stamina higher, more volumn of punches!
Learn how to attack off your laterial moves!
Keep your right elbow close to your body and turn your shoulder when you let the right hand go!! Its time to step into your opponent with two jabs and a strong right hand to the chest! Once you land it then look for his face!

Again you have style but your agression needs to be turned up, you must control 2/3 of every round, you control 1/3 of 1 round! Not good results for scoring! You can do better you need harder work on strength and higher volumn of punches. Then you need to make up your mind who will be the boss when you fight! You don't need to be a slugger to be the boss but you do need to out throw your opponent and score!

I look forward to seeing you again, this time with a stronger body and a determined mind to win!

thanks for your feedback. I will take this into account for the new type of scoring, when you have been fighting the old way of amature boxing it becomes slightly difficult in changing tactics.

I will be fighting in the commonwealth in glasgow, thats in july But i may have another major fight in between!

Good luck, so that you know something about me. I was the Olympic team coach at the Olympic training center when the Colo. Springs complex was built! I trained with Mr. Pat Nappi who is considered one of the best amatuer trainers ever!
I was the Region One team coach and my team competed all over the USA for 6 years. Many national and regional titles were gathered by my boys!

One thing will never change in any styled boxing event. Being first with your punches and accuracy along with volumn is a winning combination!
best of luck, strong body and a more than willing mind is also a tuff combo to beat! Ray.
