Absolutely not to late you're fine....
Just go "ALL IN" you will be good. You're 27 and you haven't took any damage which is a plus you will be going into your peak natural testosterone and had a little more life experience which should make you little more smarter in and outside the ring... Get a ammy fight maybe go to gloves cause i think the cut off is 28 not sure though... Then just go pro cause as long as you don't live in West Coast, Ohio, East Coast... You will probably get matched up with a bum, or some guy getting out of jail, or some drug attic who never trains... This is combat sports this is what you're dealing with.... Basically my best advice change your mindset.... Don't questioned if its to late go out there and whoop some ass cause it obvious you think you can... Learn the sport and just do it... It's that simple its all mental it's a confidence game find the right coach be positive and train hard and you will be good.

If i'm not misstaken rocky marciano started boxing
at age 24, after he failed in his tryout as a catcher for the Chicago Cubs

Sergio Martinez (Current champion) started boxing in his 20'ies

      Go for it!

http://www.boxinggyms.com/ Check that out and not sure about the price but it wont break the bank... Most boxing gyms are just people doing there own thing so you gotta let them know you want to fight and just start making friends right away so they can hold mitts for you and help you out and what not... Thats about it man keep us updated and if you have any questions during training send me a message ill have an answer.

Just like Msagrain said, it depends on your goals. If you want to be a world champion i don't really like your chances but nothing is keeping your from having a bunch of amateur fights and maybe even some pro fights.

As for what you should do: Join a gym a soon as you can and get to sparring within a month.

There is a chance that when you get hit hard in sparring(and you will) you suddently realize that combat sports might not be for you. I see it happen all the time guys get dropped or hurt and they stop sparring or even just flat out stop coming to the gym.

So yeah, join a gym and then you'll see if it's too late.

it's not up to us. it does not matter what we think or believe.

              it's entirely up to you.

so can/will you do it or not. none of us have to get up at 5am to run, watch what we eat everyday or get punched in the face 1000's of times in pursuit of........ in pursuit of what. what do you want. afterall, you will be the only one of us putting in the work. (and the work's a beetch, the acual fights are the fun part)

when the bells sound you will be the one answering them, what does it matter what we think.

so can you do it or not, what do you think?............... Rockin'

I boxed for years and never once liked getting hit in the face.

the part that I liked was that I was allowed and encouraged to punch him in his face right back and then some.

Nobody really likes getting punched in the face though, that's why we try to slip/block/duck etc.......... Rockin'
