thats the biggest myth i ever heard. an average fist weighs 1.5 pounds. now if u have big fists like foreman or shavers then it wud probably weigh 2.5 pounds. punch power cums from legs, core and upperbody, i dont think 1 pound is gona make u punch much harder. the reason why the harder punchers have big hands are becoz there heavyweights and rocky didnt have big hands, they were average.
rockys fist is liek an average fist for someone of that weight. and ye, ali had big hands, same as foreman, i got a pic where ali, foreman and frazier have their fists up, all their fists are very similar in size and ali was no hard puncher
I know a lot of you guys seem to want to think smaller hands give people greater punching power, but it really isn't so, in my opinion anyway (and probably yours after this post).
If small hands = big power, then why the **** do all the big punchers posted below have ****ING HUGE hands?
George Foreman
Earnie Shavers
Holy ****, Gerald McClellan (above) had massive hands.
The bigger punchers aren't called heavy handed for nothing.
**** gerard fist is huge, its like thickness of his arms
Well you have the pictures of like the three hardest hitters of all time, and yes they all had big fists but they also had strong arms and legs. Foreman probrably hit harder than all of them and he had the same size fists as Ali but he had huge biceps and calfs.
Which I think brings more natural gifts into it. Ali was naturally quick, they say he was a heavyweight with the handspeed comparable to lightweights.
Other people, namely Foreman, are naturally powerful. Foreman and Ali had similar physics, but were extremely different in terms of fighting styles + strengths.
