To gain elite status especially in the lower weights the late round KO is the best selling point when selling seats. Last I looked its all about selling seats (ala WWE) hahaha!!! Theres a main distinction between amatuer boxing and pro boxing and the later is about eliminating the judges view point!!!
Ten light shots are 9 times better than one hard on in the amatuer game and its just the opposite in the pros and that difference alone seperates the men from the boys!! Its a rare event when a light hitting amatuer world champion duplicates his achiments as a pro (Howard Davis) I think Rigo has plenty of power in his body frame and his technique so the pro attitude is only misdsing. I'll guarentee anyone he knew he had Donaire ready to go after 8 rounds but not stepping oon the pedal keeps him from being the "well rounded" pro. I don't want to loose that in pro boxing I understand that a safer sport can benefit a sport in todays thinking (pro football NFL) however the essence of the game must remain intact. Or abolish the pros and everyone boxes out of a amatuer format!!! not good!

So What about Gene Tunney and Ezzard Charles? Meldrick Taylor Willie Pep and Niccolino Locche?

Are these amateur boxers in your opinion?

Rigo is a great fighter, but I think Ray has a point in that his style isn't fan friendly, especially to the Mexican fan base that wants to see action and blood.

That's not a stereotype btw, I love rigo's style, I'm obviously Mexican but if I'm a promoter, his style isn't one that I'm leaning on to sell tickets.

Floyd was very different in that he was knocking people out at 130, now at 147 and 154 he isn't but they are two very different fighters in style.
I mean I agree that Rigo isn't the most fan friendly but everyone seems to only remember the last fight. Rigo KO'd 8 out of 12 opponents. 75 % ain't bad.

I'm dead serious. I sit back and look at my lack of bank and points on this forum and wonder where I have gone wrong. I'm in the red. I don't even know what they mean but I know they mean something. Like when you see the achievements a military man has accomplished on his uniform. That's why I hold you in such a high regard. If I could salute you I would. If I saw you coming into a room I was in and knew you were this illustrious, decorated forum guy, I was announce "Attention on Deck" upon your entrance to any room and wait until you commanded "Carry On" to be seated.

            Much Respect Bro! Salute!

you should make a video about how you gained points, and rep... and then get all pissy if someone questions you about it.
