Power=weight divided by reps/time. More weight, divided by same reps and/or time as opposed to lower weight, divided by same reps and/or time.

    In other words....squats and deads.
"academic definition", maybe, "physics definition" would be more accurate, and given we're talking physics here...
how quick do you do your heavy squats?
you ought to read some sports training theory, will be enjoyable and will enlighten you. i'm not being sarcastic, i mean it, good to learn about this stuff.

Doing the substance motions like a go or lift. They perform all muscle tissue from your feet to your primary, which are all muscle tissue used when punching.....

        Technique first!!!
I'm inclined to agree here. Some guys just have anvils for hands. We had this one kid, worst technique you'd ever seen. Threw straights like he was pitching overhand softball. It was laughable, but when he connected, it was like someone tossed a bowling ball at you.

If you want to be a great weightlifter, lift weights. If you want to be a good puncher, practice punching.
When you get really good at the mechanics, the motion and intellect involved in properly throwing and, more important, successfully landing, punches, then you can start wondering if doing mule kicks will make you a better puncher. Otherwise, it is misdirected energy and wasted time.
