Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao Pad Work Drill Pointless like Mayweather's?

Why would an 8 time champion and hall of fame coach do such a drill. You don't fight like this....Shouldn't he just be practicing power shots?

Can anyone Fighter, Coach, or Enthusiast explain?

In that case, my guess would be that it was a photo op. I've seen those same two individuals work out in that same gym several times and have never seen them do that.
With somebody else, a new guy, you might do something similar to get his hands and feet synced up. But there are better ways to do that.

I think they are rythym and endurance drills also. Everybody does them in a different way.

If you are going to do an "endurance" drill, do it on a bag. That gym has heavy bags, and so on. You do an "endurance" drill like that with secretaries and businessmen, or beginners, not a world champion. They were laughing and talking through it; it was a show for the press. I have been in that gym and watch Pac and Roach workout. That was play.

After a long ass work out, you try throwing 1000 punches non stop.

Nobody said it's pointless, the man asked does it help in an actual fight. I think that's a lagit question and one that shouldn't be taken so sensitively.

I see nothing wrong with working Mayweather style mitts, I see it's benefits but I do argue that if that's the ONLY thing you do, that's the wrong thing to be stressing.

The work that Roach and Pac is doing is also very different, that's an endurance drill.

Wait, you make 8 videos of yourself a day, 30 minutes each and your telling me to take a breath?
