My jab is my best punch by far, I always double it up when at range. I focus on speed with the jab rather than sitting down on it. I keep it slightly low so I can easily duck and go to the body with it so it isn't as telegraphed which helps counter aggressive fighters.

But I prefer throwing a counter left hook and side stepping out to the left but Its hard to follow up on that sometimes.

after 6 months only why are your hands down? get the basics down before you try to be flashy. perfect your technique dont practice with bad habits or you will go into fights with bad habits. when the flash dont work and you have to go to the basics but you have none then what? and why are you sparring with no equipment? where is your coach?

from the vid it looks as if you and the partner was watching boxing and tried to emulate what you saw. you need to box at an angle more. and keep your hands up. i dont know how much help you can get from the forum but I suggest you get a coach to help you. dont spar for another 6 months and if you going to spar spar with the guidance of trainers around you watching. because your not learning anything. and the kid your sparring dont know anything either so its easy to try and look like a 10 year pro against someone like that. and i know yall not really sparring but its best to get proper equipment headgear and cups. perfect your technique and everything else will come. GET A COACH. if you got one get another one.

Don't have a coach right now, but I'm gonna join a boxing gym this summer.

This my advice to you. If you are serious about boxing and competing. No more sparring. join a gym and get a coach. do what he tells you to do. take it serious. its too dangerous to be playing around. you need technique and to work on it and proper equipment before you go spar. and sparring with someone with no experience and no coach to let yall know what yall doing right or wrong is a waste of time. and can be seriously hurt before you get a chance to actually box for real.

Get a coach for sure - best advice. You need to be getting hit properly (aswell as giving it back) and then having an experienced bystander instructing you through it. It's all fine against your mate but if you are against someone who is toughened and trained to beat you in, it's not a good situation to be in.

As for the video, it was okay i liked it, you have lots of good reflexes and seem to be thinking about what you're doing.
