I can say from my own experience that my cardio and strength/explosiveness goes to **** if I eat 1-2 hours before a workout.
All the places I have gone to people have said the same thing.. Don't eat anything hours before a workout, your body goes into digestion mode making you sluggish and weaker.
Comes from our hunter gatherer genes.
After a physical straining hunt you ate and rested for hours..
WE are designed that way.
I'm not saying it doesn't work for you, maybe it does, but for me I wouldn't recommend it.
