agreed.
you see how many of these guys have never even been in the ring when they jump out criticizing the **** out of him when he actually looked like he's been pretty well trained for only having 8 mo experience.
like the only boxer's they've seen have been on HBO and Showtime
he picked some nice little punches. got a little steam on that righthand once or twice. he was at least looking for punches instead of just running or covering up.
not everybody is/will be a world champion
lol at some of the advice. here's mine:
keep it up. have fun. listen to your coaches. post some more in a few months and let's see how you're moving along.

lets be honest this is the truth here
1) He is ****ing good for someone whos only been training for 8 months very good he throws all his shots correctly, i know some of you are saying he needs to have better form but this is sparring not padwork where you aint getting hit back. The only thin i would say is that he needs higher hands as the taller lad wasnt on his jab atall and that suprised me for someone whos had four fights he should of been popping it in his face all the time.
2) Lets be honest i doubt anyone on this forum is much better then him and when he gets to fight he will be fighting another no bouter novice and i think he will more then likely beat them with ease if hes fit.
3) He shouldnt say his power will destroy anyone at 132 because at lightweight there are guys in that weight who are 5ft 11 and punch like middleweights

and in reality ive only really had 3 months experience because the first 5 months was just at a regular gym with a boxing ring in it and a trainer that i would pay for doing 2 sessions a week for 30 mins. i basically learned this sport through my passion for it by just watching hundreds of hours of tape i literally spend 2-3 hours a day just watching others boxing on youtube. I will just keep watching videos over and over to notice new things that i may have not of noticed and constantly shadow boxing.

good job but sparring someone bigger and sparring someone blown up are two different things. The dude is soft and has very limited skill, so its nothing to brag about. BUT for your time period you are looking good!
I wanna warn you about the ams, you are a strong guy but don't start focusing on your power in your weight class, in the lower weights some kids are fast youll never catch them and they will outwork you big time. I was the same deal, messing big dudes up in the gym because they are easy to hit and i had a lot of velocity on my shots, then some quick experienced guy knows how to stay away, you get tired and lose on pts.
The dude you are sparring could be dropped by a well placed body shot I can tell.Last edited by them_apples; 04-23-2012, 10:49 PM.
