No that's pretty good, around the same I do weekly. I don't know if you'd consider 5 days a week running 5 miles to get another day of rest?

Nah. . That's about right for just staying in shape. . . 3-5 miles a day, 4-6 days a week is perfect for keeping in shape, and the fat off.

I was running like 5 miles, three days a week and 3 miles 3 days a week on top of working out. I didn't think that running 5 miles was a big deal, I could get it done in 45 minutes at a steady pace. Some days I'd sprint 2 laps at almost a full out run and walk a lap, then repeat until I had gone 5 miles. On those days, I'd finish up in about 30 minutes.

I rarely jog that much any more, instead I do HIIT tabata training. Only takes 20 minutes a day and it melts fat away while maintaining muscle content. It gets your body in the anaerobic zone so that you bun fat for energy instead of carbs. I've been losing a steady 3 pounds a week since I started and I've made up like 10 different routines that involve everything from pushups, burpees and mountain climbers to prayer squats and alternating lunges.

You can do sprints too....they will help you shed the weight fast while keeping your muscles..............people who run too much lose muscle mass and are really skinny while sprinters are always lean and muscular.
