  • Heavy lifts

I understand a fair few guys in here wont be interested in weights but if u are post ur best lifts here!

Here are a few of mine to get it started

These are my 1 rep max lifts

Flat Bench Press: 135 KG (Can only manage 120kg right now)

Squat: 185 KG (Ive had lower back problems that have left me a bit gun shy on squats, i think i could go heavier)

    45 Degree Leg Press: 400KG

Dead Lift: 190KG (New to this one and as mentioned before back problems have me gun shy)

What is your weight? I am 73kgs and my deadlift (1rm) is 180kgs, my bench (5rep max) is 90kgs. No idea what my squat is, my lat pull down max is 150kgs.

Im just a smidge under 6ft and weigh 14 stone, think thats about 90kg? 196lbs...

Not sure about my lat pull down max

I dont train like that normally (1 rep) i usually do 12 reps for most body parts and 15 reps for arms

TS, you may want to do Starting Strength instead and ditch the leg press and lat pulldowns. Squats and pull-ups(weighted) respectively are much more better and SS includes both of those.

Thanks for the link man SS is a great way to start for massive power and foundation building, Arnie always reccomends doing this for a few years before advancing

Ive been at it for years though and just enjoy an all round workout, dont really wanna get Too much bigger. Thread was just out of curiosity to see what guys are lifting, be interesting to watch the numbers go up too

I've recently started doing free weights, I mainly run and cycle but play other sports too.
              I weigh 80kgs about 12 stone and I'm 6ft 3"so pretty skinny. ( i have very low body fat)
Always been a bit shy to try do a 1 rep maximum at the gym for fear of total failure.
what multiple would you suggest starting at for a 1 rep maximum of your normal rep.
              Hope that makes sense....

Sorry im not quite sure what u mean bud, what is the heaviest u bench and for how many reps? Also if u dont have a spotter try and get one it makes it so much safer and gives u far more confidence to attempt a big lift...

My brother but he is currently injured with a bad shoulder so no in short.
Honestly not much. 35kgs 3 sets of 12. Or if I'm doing lowered bench flat and slight raise usually 30 kgs 2 sets in each position.

My squat is tricky because again being new I dont want to try do too much I normally do high reps lower weight. 50kgs maybe do 4 sets of 20.

I bicep curl 10kg each arm and twist when lowered. 4 sets of 12.

                  So suggestions guidance....

Id just give up one session to test out your 1 rep max, ie try a set of bench on 50k doing only 2 or 3 reps, give yourself a decent rest and try again with another 5-10k on for the same until u hit a weight u can only do 1 rep of.

Squats is one u can get real heavy on and its about the best exercise out there on the whole but take your time until u are comftable its a dangerous one. If your doing 20reps though id up the weight and do like 12
