    I'm STILL embarrassed.

I went and did two miles today as fast as I could and did 18:22. I started slowing down towards the end but I think fairly good.

My body is accustomed to long distance running...or perhaps jogging. Whenever I try to go for "personal bests" I end up getting very tired because I have to run faster than I'm used to. 6 miles 1 hour and 10 minutes...that's 11:40 more or less per mile.

I know the feeling trying to beat personnel bests .I loss motivation to run sometimes when I stress over times .What I do is just try to relax and not stress mentally .You could also do interval training .Sprint run jog and even walk like lampost to lampost .Don't loss heart .You could also do 1 mile then rest 2 mins this improves marathon times supposidley or even rest 1 min to 30 secs depending on condition .If you run the miles hard enough you'll still benefit .I used to do 5 mile a day like this I still lost about 2 stone plus it was alot more enjoying mentally .It gave me a better physical edge .I hate doing long steady state , boring .

Those are the only two distances I run.

Good times mate, you're beating the 7 mins per mile marker.

5K is actually just over 3.1 miles and 10K is 6.25 miles.

Really? That's how I prefer doing it.

As long as I know where I'm going, I don't mind running long, steady distances. Put some money in your shoe incase you get too tired and need to buy some gatorade somewhere, and just start running around and sightseeing.

If I try running at a "time attack" pace, I'm done in about 2/5 or 1/2 the time I normally am accustomed to.

              Haha thanks guys.
My 10 k is better, my 5km should be 18 ish really.
But i struggle to pace myself over shorter distances.
Plus the organised runs here are on the beach front so it can be hellish at times.

I ended up doing 3 miles in 25 and change and 7 250 yard sprints. I wanted to switch it up.
