Who uses a pre workout and why?

I know that bodybuilders use pre workout supplements filled with creatine and argenine, and I know that marathoners and long distance bikers use carb supplements like cytomax pre and during a race.
I was curious if anybody took any pre workout supplements, what kind and why.
If I am doing long in ring training I take cytomax mixed with BCAAs to keep me going.
    Anybody else?

    I dunno dude.

Obviously, Manny Pacquiao was dirt poor so he wasn't taking supplements and he was fine.

Obviously, Sugar Ray Robinson wasn't taking CYTOMAX to keep him going was he?

Obviously, Marvin Hagler wasn't taking BCAAs blah blah blah.

Come on! It's like what did boxers dude before there were all these supplements??? How did they even function??

Floyd Mayweather said he only started taking vitamins when he turned 30.

I have tried many, many different supps and while most aren't worth bothering with, certain supps have been very beneficial to me.

I like to get my BCAAs (and aminos in general) by having a protein shake about an hour and a half before training. Gives me the extra fuel that straight BCAA supps are supposed to (but never did, for me).

Though I took creatine for bodybuilding and grappling, it doesn't help my boxing much and I always get some level of water retention (no matter which type), so I skip it.

I take CoQ10 about an hour before as it supports the heart and also works as a mild stimulant.

Beta Alanine has helped my muscular endurance (arms and legs can keep going for much longer periods).

If it's going to be an intense workout, I'll drink half a can of energy drink. I'm embarrassed to say that. But, it offers a big boost and I never drink caffeine, soda, or anything like that unless it's part of a pre or post-workout supplementation.

I can't take anything during a workout, aside from room-temp water, or I'll get serious stomach cramps. So, it's usually an hour or two before, then half an hour afterward.

I never said they wouldn't function without supplements, but they can offer some benefit.
I never said they were necessary or mandatory. I was just curious as to who took them, and if they did, which ones...

I have heard that NAC also help with muscular endurance and prevents lactic acid build up.
CoQ10 and Quercetin are amazing supplements to take prior to training.
            Thanks

Very interesting, I'll have to look into that! I take NAC on Saturday nights to
mitigate hangovers but I never thought of using it in training. Looking forward to trying that.
