thanks mohammedini, that helped me alot they diss boxing, they say boxing has a disadvantage to kicks and all you have to do is kick them in the groin. But I'll prove them wrong, boxing is not a martial art that goes down with a kick of an amateur. ill work hard and WIN the next fight if i have one!

btw my new gym is AWESOME! the new head coach is from Brooklyn so he knows all about america he was born in a boxing family, and according to him his brother had a fight against Roy Jones Jr. during his amateur career. theres alot of americans, mexicans, brazilians in the gym so I feel very comfortable. he doesn't believe in "asian boxing", that's the cool part he teaches me how to weave and block, he said you can come when you have time as i have a semester exam on the 12th.

It is true, boxing does have a weakness when it comes to kicks, but thats not really important in the grand scheme of things... considering you won't get kicked in a boxing ring.

I started boxing partially due to being bullied, and partially because I wanted to get in shape. I found that boxing changed my mentality all together, after training for a while I didn't want revenge anymore, just knowing I could defend myself if they ever got physical was enough, so I didn't really care when they said stuff to me. I just felt a lot more confident over all, it really is a great sport to help your mentality. If your friends tell you boxing is easy or anything like that, just tell them to come give it a go - that's what I always did, and very few every took me up on the offer.

moneymay, i can understand where you are coming from, as i too was picked upon, because of my very strange name I didnt react like you, eventhougi was rather shy, i would go somewhat mental and discovered i was quite strong, As a result i got into fights as i became older, left, right and center. I came to realize, that my pattern of reactions when provoked, both as a teen and adult, was exactly like the way i did, when i was a child.

The reason im telling you this, is because you have to be aware of not going from one extreme to another, its all about balance and that balance i found through boxing and i sincerely hope, that you too find that.

i´ll make you a bet, when you´ve become a better boxer and your sparring sessions are going much better, you´ll come back to this thread and simply dont give a **** about a little piss ants´s provocations

Ive never been bullied but my advice to anyone who is getting bullied is stand up for urself. If somebody tries to get physical with u then smack his puss with the best shot u can, hit him as hard as u can and as many times as u can. In the face. If u are getting bullied u may be a smaller guy or whatever so there is a good chance u will take a kicking for fighting back but at least u will have some pride about urself and the bullying wont last much longer trust me - Nobody likes getting punched in the face. The bully might be harder but if he knows he is gonna take at least one decent shot and maybe have to bleed a lil or have a black eye every time he punks u - it will stop in a hurry.

In a street fight very few people, if any, utilize kicks. However a good number of them end up on the ground in which case a ground and pound can do some serious damage.

stick with boxing, it will strengthen your body and mind you can't imagine. Earn respect by having earned pride and belief in yourself as opposed to the posers who flock like sheep for power, every now and again show the haters what you have to prove.

You seem to have a weak mind which most likely comes across in person.
