you need both to make it. hard work more than anything though, but the truly great fighters are almost all very talented as well.

intelligence is something that gets overlooked. training smart, that way you get the most out of your hard work and talent. alot of ppl might not have the kind of talent that sticks out in teh gym (power, fast hands etc) but they have other things.

things that aint flashy but is often an ever better foundation for a fighter, like balance, a strong core, natural coordniation, good eyes for incoming punches etc.

you need to find your talent and make the most out of it, find your style and make the most of that too.

imo talent only gets you so far, hard work always prevails. this doesnt mean blunt headed directionless hard work, you need to practice the jab if you dont have it, work on your reflexes, game and other weeaknesses you lack.

Those less talented have to work much harder than talented individuals to attain the same results.

There are plenty of world champion boxers who have had next to no talent. Some guys have terrible technique, athleticism, coordination, speed, footwork and reactions......but got to where they are with good conditioning, bravery and a will to win.

Carlos Mauser didn't have any talent whatsoever for example!

I'm not saying that I want to become a champion or anything but just wanted to hear your opinions.
          100 % agree

"Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard" - Kevin Durant

which for the most part i agree with. look at Kelly Pavlik. why he was a t the Top was because he worked hard. no ever said he was the most talented guy. but he made up for it because he worked hard.......now he has fallen off

hard work beats talent if talent doesnt work hard.

Hard work will take you where you want to be. Talent can only make you go so far, but I do believe Talent can be built as you work on different area's of your skill set. There is always something new to learn in the gym!

Hard work>Talent. If you work hard you will prevail.
