I alway found that doing neck bridges can be quite dangerous for your neck.

Doing neck bridges will damage your neck if you roll side to side.

just find a table and lay on your back with your head hanging off of the end. Pick your head up and touch your chin to your chest, do that for 3 minutes.

Now get on your side with your head hanging off, lift head up passed the table, drop it and lift again. Do 1-1/2 minutes of those and then roll over on your other side and do 1-1/2 minutes.

Now get on your stomach with your head hanging off and lift your head above the table, drop and repeat for 3 minutes.

This will build your neck good for absorbing shots and will increase size...........Rockin'

when building muscles of any kind you'll find it easier to make gains if you are in proportion

i'd honestly say the best way to get a bigger neck is to start adding weight for your squat, bench, deadlift, barbell shrugs, etc
get bigger and your neck will follow

if you are boxing you don't want to head this rout, obviously, or you will outgrow your weight class and build muscles that will tire easily and require lots of rest (bodybuilding muscle) and slow you down
but if you are not this is the best way to "make your neck bigger." gain weight.

i've also found that the neck is one of the more "natural" muscles in the body
meaning that if you have a gifted musculature it will show up in the neck

and if you don't it's going to be very hard to get a bigger one.

in boxing you have very specific exercises for strengthening the neck, but i wouldn't suggest them unless you are very experienced and have a good trainer around helping you.
sparring and doing sit ups and ab work will strengthen your neck and help condition it for fighting.

and like anything else, remember to stretch

        my .02 anyway.

          thanks... those sound good

what about neck bridging were u just hold it and dont rotate?

ive done that way before and can take a little pressure off by using r hands

and what about the chit u see mayweather doing?

          seems prett effective

but i guess u have to have the right equipment and a spotter

I do neck bridges & reverse ones I also use a neck harness.
I have never once used a spotter & don't feel one would at all be necessary as long as you're using strict form (Straight back, no jerky movements)

I always warm up first by rolling my neck etc

I do this once a week at the end of a shoulders/traps session.

I can say without any shadow of a doubt that it's helped my absorb a shot better, though I am also in better conditioned overall than before I started training my neck.

I don't care who says otherwise & neck exercises are bad, everybody that competes in a contact sport should work their neck with strict form. It's not a coincidence that most boxers with the strongest necks have better chins.

I.E prime Tyson, David Tua, Mayweather, B-Hop, Vitali.

That said rolling with a shot will help take the sting off a shot but having a thick neck will help prevent a whiplash effect.

Neck Bridges is an advanced exercise for people who already have strong necks. Neck Raises would be a good place to start doing some shrugs and maybe some farmers walks would be good too.
