  • Plyometrics for Boxing

This should be performed 2-3 times a week and will improve strength, speed and endurance without bulking up. Plyos should be perfomed at an intense high temo.

Amir Khan is a big fan of Plyometrics. He used to do mega weights until he got knocked. He stopped this once he moved to Freddie Roach's camp and started working with Ariza. Says he feels stronger now than ever and the big muscles took up a lot of oxygen.

Please note***Plyos should not be performed on consecative days or during the tapering phase (1-2 weeks before a fight/contest). Perform each exercise as stated without rest, rest 1 minute and start again:

    Clap Press-ups 10-15 reps

    Squat Thrust 10-15 reps

    Squat Jumps 10-15 reps

    Lateral Box Jumps 10-15 reps

    Medicine ball slams 10-15 reps

    Tuck jumps 10-15 reps

Bosu One Handed Press-ups 8-12 reps
