make a "ch" type noise whenever you throw a punch. itll become habitual pretty quickly, and then youll always exhale whenever you throw punches.
in all honesty ive never actually used that technique myself, but a lot of people i train with do and it seems to be pretty effective.
also, a couple ways to work on breathing endurance are...
breathe only through your nose when you run. someone mentioned in another thread that running with water in your mouth helps you do this.
practice holding your breath. its kind of wierd, but enough practice will expand your lung capacities and oxygen efficiency.
swim. swimming alone will increase your breathing efficiency, plus there are lots of types of swimming training that can help you areobically or anerobically.
one more thing, practice high intensity combos in sparring or on a heavy bag for like 30 seconds at a time. enough practice, and your body will adjust naturally to the breathing difficulties.

I always exhale when I throw the first punch and I kinda get what youre asking, when youre throwing fast combos you can't really inhale/exhale for each punch.
What I would reccomend is just do alot of fast combos pads/bag/shadow boxing and focus on youre breathing. Could just be youre condition could be better or maybe you just tense up and focus too much abt the combo thus forgetting abt youre breathing. Just don't inhale in a punch.
If the problem is kinda more like youre 'empty' late fight just do alot of heavy bags (always balance it with speed/shadow boxing or you get slow)
Well that's my 2 cents hope it helped.

take a shoulder width grip on an olympic barbell, bend the knees, squat down in front of the resistance and with a quick snap of the arms and thrust of the legs, clean the barbell to your chest and stand up. after a brief pause, thrust the barbell to arms length overhead, pause briefly, then lower the barbell back to the top of your chest. another brief pause and lower the barbell back to the floor. with absolutely no rest, initiate the second rep of the movement. do two sets with 8 reps each, it works the son of a ***** out of your heart, give it a try

hmm
The best technique is simply remembering to breathe. Breathing out every time you throw a punch is not a neccessity by any means. I've found once I let go of that flawed theology that I had better stamina. Just breathe, and measured, paced breaths all the time and relax. This will help your stamina.

Learning to conserve your breathe is something that is learned with experience. The more you work at it the easier it will become.
The recommendation of exhaling when you punch is correct, but there is much more to it than that. In time you will learn to relax when boxing, especially when its going down and your in the thick of it. The green guys will grow tired simply from nervous tension. Even when they are breathing properly they are constricting so many muscles with the nervous tension that they will begin to feel fatigued.
And any time that you are not in range of your opponent, meaning moving laterally around the ring, take long deep breathes. When the opponent is in range, you return to the exhaling with the punches and let your hands go. When either you or your opponent move out of range, begin the slow breathes again.
When the bell has sounded and the round ends, walk to your corner and take three deep breathes, letting each out as slow as you can. This will slow the heart rate abit and allow you to freely catch your breathe after the breathes are complete. (NoteAfter you take the breathes, sit on your stool and then, and only then will you get water. Do the breathes before drinking or your going to end up with air bubbles burping up the next round from breathing so heavy and fast while drinking the water.
Most of all, dont smoke cigarettes. This is a public message from smokey the bear....."Only you can prevent foresst fires."

The training comes after the round is over. Breathe in as much air as you can...really breathe in a lot, fill your lungs, in through your nose. Now let it out SLOWLY through your mouth. Do that after every round. Whether oyu are shadow boxing, hitting the heavy bag, whatever. As you do that you will build your lungs up.
