Which pair of Rival gloves did you have? Also, did you like the diagnol velcro system?....

    Do you recommend Rival?

well the inner lining tore after a year. I'm only a 130 lb fighter. I tend to **** more than most in my weight class but still I figure a big dude would shred the **** out of the gloves I had.

If you live in canada I suppose I'd recommend, since shipping is cheap. IMFs up here are like 135 bucks after taxes.

Rival isn't a terrible brand, it just doesn't stack up to Grant, Winning, reyes even ringside.

I've used reyes, they are tough as hell and well made but rather heavy.

IMF's feel great, fall apart eventually though.

Everlast is pretty ****ty, haven't tried the protex 3's though, they cost 200 bones and I see a lot of pros rocking them.

I'm using fightings now, had them for about a year, they are holding up - the thumb has a hole torn in the lining but the form is intact and doesn't show any sign of crumbling. They feel great though, very very comfortable glove. To be fair I've hit the bag and pads with these gloves too.

those are velcro. what you see in the pic is an elastic cuff to protect your partners from the velcro. i cut them off because i didn't like 'em. it doesn't leave a mark on they gloves as you can rip them away completely without breaking anything

i also have a pair of reyes with the cuff and i cut it off just as easily
