I also wanted to point out that my first two knuckles are abnormally large, my third knuckle is much larger than the fourth knuckle, more so than every hand I've compared mine to so far. So it would be impossible for all four of my knuckles to make contact at the same time, unless i was punching an area that is contoured to fit if you know what i mean.

Is there any takers on my question as to what footwork drills are preffered by you ranked boxers?

Do you guys think that someone who is 6'6" should not practice the bob n' weave because of being so tall, plus overall size?

also do you boxers out there punch with your last 3 smaller knuckles?

My coach really believes so. But coming from a martial arts up bringing, i'm sure that those are the weakest bones in the hand and would get broken very easily, hence the name "boxers fracture"
Bob and weave is for smaller guys with a lot of speed. If you can mimic a guy like Rid**** Bowe you will do great. He was masterful for a big man and one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. He never bobbed and weaved.

yeah looking at other fighters will definately help, watch tape and study their technique, study various styles and pick up what you thing works. In my opinion, good head movement is necessary in ANY style, you want your opponent to land the less punches possible.

So today I brought it up, and we talked about things I needed to do if I want to get into a closer range, and we ended up working on slipping, the windshield wiper thing, whatever its real name is?, pivoting, along with hits or combos that can be thrown quickly in each motion (yes I'm planted when I throw and pivot on the proper foot for each punch). Kind of a set of defensive offensive moves, I love em all. We also worked on a variety of ways to block where ever, without creating any big enough openings. Like blocking a jab I liked turning my open palm and pushing on the jab a little to where I can guard quickly after the block is done. I may still get hit but it wont be nearly as much power, breaking the punch. It can also cause some damage to the arm, shoulder or back.

I really learned a lot from today for sure, I've got to practice practice practice, this stuff will really help me out.

Oh coach wasn't there today so another experienced trainer filled his spot who was trained by him. He is almost as big as me but he's had over 30 years of training, so it really helped me big time.
