Boxing in self defence?

I don't know if I would try a check hook, I'd be worried about losing my footing, especially on ashphalt or something or wearing casual shoes. If a guy rushes in, I'd move back and to the side and stick out the jab. Or if there was little space to move back, I might try the check hook.

It doesn't have to be flashy like that and I haven't done it 100 times, but basically just take a step back and catch a guy as hes coming in full force.

Hand breaks are less likely aswell.

I personally wouldn't try the jab, but it might work for others.. I would want to end the fight ASAP as to avoid anyone else getting involved, so I'm going in there Maidana style and throwing with bad intentions.

I did see one guy get flattened by a jab though by this much bigger dude, he screamed "uncle" like he was in the WWE so the guy would not hit him while he was down.

I haven't seen someone get knocked down by a jab in real life but I seen this video ! Haha I'm not trying to start anything with Pac fans, when I read your post it brought me to this video.

Most guys who know how to throw a jab properly can drop alot of guys with a stiff jab to the face, most tough guys in street fights haven't ever been punched and when they taste a jab and their eyes water, they go down and usually stay down.
