well i planned on turning pro in February and only the end of the world can stop that, but i want to be able to have some money to fall back on, in case thigns get rough, boxing is the best thing i do and i have an opportunity to make it so i might as well right?

And im not getting a degree at night school, im just there to learn about things. Especially Anatomy and physics because boxing is called the sweet science and i think that those two classes would actually help me. I have already learned about torque and how i can use it to strengthen my left hook (which has considerably improved).

Im asking your guys opinions, because you guys are the people who would know best. If 20 ppl say yes and 21 say no im not gonna do it...no thats not what im saying, i just wanted some second opinions.

Im also not doing this for the money, i love the sport so much and i DO want to become champion. thats my big goal at the top of the pyramid. But i gotta start somewhere.

        Thanks for your input guys.

After reading your last post then turn pro. if you love it and are doing for the right reasons ,which is not money, then go for it. You just got to be smart about it. go to trade school and have a plan to get income other than boxing. Trade schools have hours that will work with your boxing schedule and they give you a profitable skill that you will have to fall back on. Also make sure you got someone who represents you that has your best interest in mind and will get you the right fights so you can move up in the ranks and not become an opponent to someone who is.
          Good luck man.

Just start slow, and fight some cans at first. Don't rush through anything and as long as you stick to it and get your feet under you, you should be ok.

Just don't over think it once you commit to it. Just keep it day by day and keep working hard.

Good luck man, and let us know how it goes.

Your looking at stepping in with the big dogs. You better know that you are ready. If your asking for our approval that would lead me to believe that your not ready. Aint none of us gonna feel it when you get rocked, and whether youre good or not, it will happen.

Stay in school, get your degree. And if you do decide to roll with the pros you better be sure that you have a GOOD girl by your side. Because things dont come easy in the fight game. Take my words to heart, I've already been there.........Rockin'
Good advice. This is what I'm doing. Getting my career first. Boxing is on the side for me.

Haven't read any of the replies nor much information on your post, but here's my input.

Anyone can become pro, and some can even make a little money. As for having it as a career, not many can do it.

You said you have been boxing since 8th grade, and pretty much backyard boxing matches and 80 of them. Now, not to take anything away from you as I am sure you are proud of what you have done, but fighting those kind of fights really does not get you anywhere. You probably have about as much knowledge about actual boxing as someone that has been training in a real gym for under a year.

To make this a career, you would need to goto a gym and I would suggest sparring with one of their top amatures(If they even let you) to see where you stand. If you get eaten alive, I would probably suggest finding something else to do. Most top amatures are not even able to make a real career out of boxing.

Now, I am talking about REAL professional boxing. If you are going to continue underground fighting, go for it. I know nothing about it.

:wank: Lmao Where do they come from?

You believe that this novice boxer will not be the "can" that gets kicked around, sheeat! Who's his promoter, who's his manger and who is his match maker? Lol, has he even had a day of proper training? Believe me when I say that without a descent manager, promoter or match maker this kid will be the can that everybody pays the money to see get knocked the **** out. He will probably have all kinds of calls for fights once they see the massacre and word gets around. He may actually be able to make a dismule income if he agrees to two of the many phone calls a month and inks his name on the dotted line.

Atleast get some REAL experience before you even consider turning pro. Say spend 2 years in the amatuers busting your ass every day, every training session and every fight. Who knows what can happen if it's really in you.

Would you stop telling people this, it is honestly one of the most ignorant statements that I have heard on Boxing Scene. Mentality is a huge factor when two SKILLED FIGHTERS square up to throw. When a barely skilled fighter steps up with his huge mentality against a skilled pro fighter he is going to have his mentality changed very quickly, aswell as possibly having his looks altered. Stick to your comfortable chair and yell your advice to your television. Atleast then nobody will get hurt giving advice where you lack any knowledge on the subject..........Rockin'
