  • How do I burn fat and strengthen my core?

    ^^^

I really want to get dedicated, and get into a boxing gym. I'm sure this question has been asked a billion times already, but what do I do to strengthen my core up(Pecs, Abs, etc) and burn fat?

    Right now I'm about 5'11 155

I'm not exactly ripped. I'm just average.

Ideally I want to get down to about 140 if I can. But of course that seems to be a far off goal.

im in exactly the same possition. chesk out my 'i wanna gain 20lbs' thread. basicaly im going to drop 10-15lbs of fat then gain just over that in muscle over the next year hopefully. the best way to drop is to weight train 3 times a week (absolute best fat burning exercise) and run plenty. then eat less than you need. try eating 2000 cals a day. as to stregnthening core again weightlifting helps. i have a prety solid core and i have never even worked it. just squatting and deadlifting have helped no end

cutdown, the carbs. eat six meals a day this should increase your metabolism. Count your calories, lift heavy.

are you sure about staying at 140 though? or is that a temporary thing? because it seems crazy small for someone nearly 6 foot.

                Separately in my opinion

pretty rough but to burn fat work on

                - Cardio (jogging, sprints, jump rope, higher the heart rate the better)
                - Diet (smaller meals more regularly, less saturated fat, less simple sugars, watch excessive carbohydrates, increase protein, good fats)

to strengthen core, many exercises to choose from, my favourites are compound exercises/body weight exercises.

chin ups, push ups, Lunges (many variations), squats (many variations), sit ups, crunches, all kinds of medice/keetle ball exercises. thats just a few, endless options available.

that’s the road i’d be going down, see where the weight heads, no point pushing for 140 if it isn't practical (i.e you could gain muscle etc)

                just my 2 cents.

Do you own research, Good luck.

Holy hell, I am 5'11 and 180 pounds, how can you possibly cut more fat? I think you will become too weak trying to cut more and should focus getting stronger and staying at ur weight.

FFS, is everybody ******ed. Hes 5' 11 with no muscle on his body. He's very un athletic. TBH you're not going to lose any weight. You will tone up but you'll start to become bigger and put on weight, you're prob gonna put on about 10 pounds of muscle at least if you take it seriously.
