Best things for losing weight on upper leg/backside area

Hey i am well built 5,11 with big shoulders and quite a good frame..

I have a problem though that any weight i gain goes onto my upper legs or backside rather then say stomach/lovehandle areas other people normally get it. Is there any exercises i can do to prevent this or remove fat from said areas? squats came to mind but i am not sure

You can't really spot reduce fat from one particular area. At least not that I know of+without certain chemical assistance. The best thing would just be to lose weight in a regular way and it should come off of your legs.

Squats do work the hamstrings, in my experience squats will make you quads muscular a lot more than your hamstrings.

You can't 'spot reduce' fat. Doing situps won't give get rid of your gut and give you a flat stomach, doing squats won't burn fat from your legs/butt.

If you want to lose fat you have to up your exercise (cardio especially) and/or clean up your diet until you are burning off more calories than you are eating.

Yup basically what they said. The human body doesn't lose or gain weight in specific areas. It's the same reason you don't see people walk around with one fat arm and one skinny one.

The best thing to do is cardio and eating a low fat diet. With men, most of the weight is concentrated in the midsection and sides (belly and love handles)

With females it's in the buttocks and legs, which is weird as a man you would have that problem.

Just keep running, eating right and doing tons of cardio. Even then some men never lose it where they want to, I read that the Rock had liposuction to remove fat from under his pecks because it wouldn't go away.

With The Rock it was caused by steroids though, I think. They can sometimes cause bitch **** as a side effect.

big muscles burn fat, so if u do squats u create big muscles. if you go running then those big muscles need energy to keep you running, that's how you lose carbs, fat (and some proteins if u go really hard)all over your body. so do some muscle building, then also some cardio, good diet, good rest and you'll be fine.

Cheers guys gonna miss out on the squats then..

Already doing the cardio, diet is borderline good and could use improvement admitedly. Liposuction might actually be a good option though as even when i was down at 160 they were a little out of proportion
