Did you miss the keep your hands up part? and i belive either pak sau or bong sau (not sure which one havn done wt in over a year) is just a modified glance off.

the point is that you should be stoppin their punches before they hit with your forearm against their forearm.

i mean the ground and pound. if its a one on one fight, and one have knowledge in ground game, better take him down than give him a puncher's chance. but its a street fight where one can have a buddy to help him. GnP isnt a good idea.

eh yeah that was more of a joke, though if your at a party at a friends house and you know all thats going to happen is a big circle around you two till your pulled apart id go with the gold berg spear with a shoulder jab right into their solar plexus then ground n pound.

I personally would avoid GnP in a streetfight if I could. Rather stay on my feet and kick the **** out of him.

its not just the gnp but the spear into the solar plexus stops anyone from breathing for atleast a few seconds and if you get them on the right side you also nail their liver.

essentially youd be pounding some one whos trying their damnedest just to breath.

but it was more of a joke and in a street fight youd more then likely get the **** kicked out of you by his friends.

Look at the youtube vid linked. The guy said in streetfights parrying you might get your hand broken.

a parry is an open hand slap of the hand on the back for the guys wrist forcing the punch over opposite of the slapping hands shoulder.

like if the guy throws a right you slap the back of his hand with your left so it goes over your right shoulder, just a slight deflection of the punch. im not sure how your going to get your hand busted slapping some body gently on the wrist.

does the guy explain how this will break your hand? I cant watch you tube videos at the moment.

i believe hes just getting the words mixed up. he says something about blocking and parrying then says you shouldnt block punches if he has something in his hand then right after that he says just work your parries and deflection with your one arm and coming in with the other, just getting his words mixed up...then hes calling the glance off a leverage block when its not a block but a deflection as well.

Yeah my mistake of words as well. He said dont catch the punch with your hand i think in case of knuckle dusters but in boxing sport its ok.

Boxing defence isn't so effective in a street fight because it's not really necessary. Majority of individuals in a street fight throw looping punches which are easy to side step or stop by intercepting them at the wrist.

More often than not you can catch the person clean before their punch even reaches you anyway. When people punch properly their punches travel a shorter distance that along with faster hand speed means you will essentially beat them to the punch.
