When your Boxing your better off eating healthily. If you don't you will be at a heavier weight and you will be fighting naturally bigger guys, because people eat healthily so they can fight at a lower weight... so if you just eat whatever crap you want theres a good chance you will always be matched against guys who are stronger at the weight than you, if you eat healthily it helps to stop it, you will have guys stronger than others but still.

Plus, when eating the right foods you get the right nutrition for when you fight, you could compete whilst eating whatever you want but you will probably find it easier when eating healthily... nobody expects you to live like a monk but its still a good idea to eat healthy and treat yourself every now and then. And believe me, when you've gone without chocolate for a while you don't need it anywhere near as much, cause your not used to having anything as sweet you don't really want it as much anyway.

This is bull****, it's called media propaganda. This is a guy who goes to club and drinks water even when he's 'retired'. Please don't let this fool you, this guy trains harder and eats healthier than any boxer out. This is the sort of **** gullible *****s believe.

If your in solid shape while eating junk food, you will be in MUCH better shape eating healthy. Eating healthy doesn't mean you have to cut out everything you like, you just have to eat smarter so to speak.

Look at this way. If you have a Ferrari, you can put in some ****ty homemade gas, the car will still run and be faster than most other cars on the road and get the job done. If you put in race fuel, the car will run cleaner, longer, faster, and stronger. You are the car, and the food is fuel for your body, the better the food the better you will 'run'.

Technically, you can eat what you want as long as you're maintaining a calorific deficit through training. However, eating junk food is addictive and as soon as you stop training (and you will stop at some point), those junk food cravings aren't just going to disappear and you will put on fat, you also run the risk of eating more calories than you're burning off by eating addictive calorie dense junk food. It does also make you feel sluggish as someone pointed out.

Best thing is to have a clean diet leaving you in control of cravings.

As an aside, I don't think that Ochocinco guy came in at 2% body fat, I think the lowest a human can go is 3% (Dean Karnazes, ultramarathon runner, check out the veins on his calfs in this link, http://runtrails.blogspot.com/2010/0...-marathon.html )

It really depends on your metabolism in the first place, and your age, because your metabolism slows down when you get older.

A friend of mine has been eating junk all his life, he drinks atleast 4 liters of cola a day, eats horribly, i mean mc donalds like 5 times a week, orders out, fast food. He eats more than i do.

But he's a 6 foot 2 140 pounds twig and he can't gain weight for ****, he wants to but he can't.

Me on the other side, i have a rather slow metabolism, i gain and lose weight really easily. In reality i'm a fat boy that refuses to be fat. I eat well and train my ass off, if i don't i will gain weight for sure.

For the most part your metabolism only slows down with age because you become less active the older you get.

Having a slow metabolism and having a fast one both have advantages and disadvantages. Your friend the twig will continue eating that crap and not gain a pound, but he is doing incredible damage to his body even though there are no visible symptoms (yet), but if he carries on like this it will cause all sorts of health problems in the future, unfortunately for him, because he doesnt gain any weight he'll never realise the silent damage all that stuff is doing to him.

You on the other hand, eat crap and it makes you put on weight, which at first may seem like a crappy deal, but in reality you are getting a visible warning from your body that the stuff you eat is damaging you so you know you have to eat well and train hard.

Im like your friend, I can eat whatever I want and not gain a pound, and thats what I used to do aswell, my diet was really really bad back in the day, then I started boxing and researching healthy diets and stuff and realised that just because I was skinny didnt mean I was healthy.
