Knuckles Ripped Apart From Hitting Bag?

I wrapped my hands good, and I had gloves on, and my knuckles still got ripped up. It's only my middle knuckle on my right hand, but it's cut deep and Now it hurts like hell whenever I hit my bag, but I don't want to wait for it to heal before I hit the bag again, what should I do?

And what should I do to prevent it from happeneing again?

sorry but your gonna have to let it heal up before you hit the bag again, if you keep hitting it then your gonna get severly injured and may never get to hit a heavy bag again, if it keeps opening up then it gets infected from the sweat and bacteria in your gloves....Its up to you if your stubborn then you may never hit the bag again.

Dont box for the heavy bag for 2 months and when your hand heals get someone to teach you how to wrap it or get those everlast gel wraps. you are probally using a rough fabric that keeps tearing your skin.

I dont like the normal wraps, i either gauze and tape(sparring) or a pair of the below guards(bags)

I got the from ringside and i thought they were ****, i didnt wear them for about a year until i split my knuckle, so i modified them by taking most of the padding out and only having a slim layer on the knuckle and i also cut bigger holes for my thumbs. There perfect now, i havent had any problems since. If you dont wear ringside super bag gloves you might want to wrap your wrists too.

Did you wrap them correctle and not just around the palm and go in between your fingers? If not you should have, I have a pretty good E-manual on how to wrap your hands if you are interested I would be more than happy to share it.

I just went over knuckles, around thumb, over in between my thumb and index finger, and my wrist for support. I am going to try the in between the finer, that may have been my problem, I took my gloves off and I realize the skin just like got ripped right off, it isn't bad, but the place it is, it will most likely open everytime I hit the bag. I'm going to wrap it with gauze and put my handwraps on over it when I hit it tommorow.

I use the Ultimate Classic bag gloves from Ringside and mexican hand wraps and my hands are feeling fine. I much prefer the super bag gloves to the old fashioned thin kind.

u likely ****ed up on the wrap.

i use two pair of wraps on each hand. first pair i go twice around wrist, loop on thumb, then i make a cushion around my knuckles by folding the wrap on top of it and then tying it down, then i tighten it and make it nice and tight.

second pair i go once around wrist, loop around thumb again, then I go from under my thumb from looping the thumb to in between my pinky and the finger next to it, loop around thumb again, then between birdy finger and finger next to pinky, then i loop around wrist, then loop around thumb again and go to my pointing finger, then i tighten the wrap around the top of the knuckles, holding all that protection in place, and connect the velcro at the wrist

no ****in way in hell ill ever get a hand injury lol,.

I think the wrap was done incorrectly. It ended up too loose and the wrap scrapped the skin off duuring a punch.

Forget the 2 months. You know how long that is? THat's like 40 days of boxing with no punching?

I would put some liquid band aid on the wound. It will close the wound and stay one like super glue. Make a fist and squeeze your fist and place the liquid band aid on it and keep it on till it dries in 5-10 mins. It should stay on all day even with workouts.

If you still get the skin peeled and can't figure it out, put some cotton layers girls use for makeup removal.

if you want to toughen up the skin itself do press ups on the knuckles. at the start it will feel itchy/irritating but no matter what dont rub the knuckle,it will tear the skin tissue.do regularly and over a period of months you will develop calluses(tough layer of skin).
