  • I'm training this young kid...

Ok here's the story, I'm training this young kid, he's 16 and I have been training him for about 8 months. He had his first Amateur fight last weekend here in Miami and we won by 2nd round stoppage.

The kid has nothing, he lives in a very, very bad part of Miami. So bad that the first 3 times I picked him up at his house, I got pulled over for being in that neighborhood.

He has exceptional talent, he's fast, strong and could have a serious future in the sport if given the chance. His mother died and his father really isn't around much so he looks to me as a big brother type.

His B-day is coming up and I was wondering if you guys could recommend a nice little gift package from Titleboxing.com that I can give him. A gym bag, gloves, mouth piece, wraps, jump rope and maybe shoes.

Let me know what's best for the money, something not to expensive because I'm not rich either.

I will post some vidoes of him fighting or training so you can see the kid.

    Thanks.

That's the thing, I don't do this for pay, I do it for the love. I mean I basically get free gym time and do get some money here and there but I just like working with the kids.

I don't want to get him anything super expensive, just some decent gloves to train and spar with. They supply everything at the amateur tourneys so he doesn't need that, just some trunks, gloves, mouth piece, rope etc.

I think the kid will love it.

I agree, especially if he is now fighting. Be good if you could upload a vid to see this kid.

Nice touch though, good on you for buying him something.

Kid has great potential, we started sparring me and him about 6 months ago. I used to kick the kids ass all over the place, drop him with body shots, now I can't hit him LOL.

He is tall but very light, he fights at 120lbs. I told him, you get used to my shots and you will take everyone else's shots no problems.

I will try and get that video for you guys but I'm useless when it comes to ***in computers.

                gym bag >
                http://store.titleboxing.com/under-a...pment-bag.html

i got the same bag in black and its awesome. great great quality, as always with under armour. and its only 39.99

                http://store.titleboxing.com/shock-d...outhguard.html

the best BNB mouthguard out there, perfect for boxing. of course you can get him the cheap everlast ones too for 5 bucks but this one he will really take care of and use a long time

wraps and jump rope doesnt matter what you get him

gloves however, depends. 14oz? 16oz? bag? sparring? less or more than 50 bucks? too many to chose. for sparring maybe the triumph united japanese heatseekers theyre like 60 bucks

Something custom like gloves or trunks. Something that's personalized so it represents him. He got a fight nickname? I'd throw that on a pair of nice custom trunks.

Thanks fellas, green K for you.

He doesn't have a knick name yet, he only has one fight but to tell you how good he is, he spars one of the trainers sons who was a champion in puerto rico. The kid is really ****y and at first he was kicking my boys ass. Now he more than holds his own and you can tell he doesn't really want to spar him anymore.

Last week he bloodied up his nose really good, his shirt was red from the blood.

He's a good kid too, a little ****y at times, I have to reel him in but good overall.
