Now i know its normal to have a headache for a little after the spar, ive had one for that night and maybe the night after. But i had a brutal war with a retired pro whos now a trainer, i just started training in sept and i just turned 19. I won but we each just unloaded on eachother alot, and he hit me in the back of the head and still when i touch that area it hurts. The spar was wednesday and ive just had a terrible headache ever since. Ive read up on headaches after spars on the forum and they say usually for that day n maybe the day after but i still have it and its been a few days with no letting up.. Is this normal?

I've personally been rocked, and even dropped in sparring, and have never experienced any kind of headaches like you describe. They are likely caused by some other factor, such as being dehydrated or lack of nutrients, having a headache for more than a day is NOT good, and you should RARELY get headaches when you spar. Check your diet and water intake, if you are drinking energy drinks, stay off those, I know some people who would get them after training that were caused by them.

dam, its not good.. It still hurts if i touch the spot on the back of my head aswell. And the pain feels like its in the back of my head. I also had something very weird happen 2 me 2day. There was a part of my vision that went all fuzzy and was almost as if i had been staring into a light for awhile. If it is a concussion.. How long until i can spar again, and how long will it take before it goes away.

iv sparred a lot over the years n had bad headaches after getting hit hard where i couldnt see straight for 2 days. Its normal boxing isnt natural and you will get bad headaches for a long time if u get hit right. Take a week off from sparring or 2. youll be fine.

You shouldn't be having sore head and fuzzy vision days after a spar, you must have taken some heavy shots.
I'm lucky my coach has ingrained in me good defence and high hands, I have given away lots of weight in spars and fights, and with some good fighters too, and never can remember being messed up after a spar or fight.
The odd mild headache immediately after, and even then can't remember last time I had that. Only ever had 2 or 3 bloody noses too.

To be on the safe side, do get checked out by a doctor.
But before we all start running around waving our arms in the air and yelling concusion, stop and think how many things can cause a head ache. Punches in the face, sure they can cause them. But so can a tight or strained muscle in the neck. Lack of sleep, going hungry, dehydration..... there are all kinds.
With the vision I have experienced that a couple of times, it was during or immediately following the session while busting on the bags. Aswell, there are many possibilities for this.
Honestly, when you learn more and become more relaxed you wont always find yourself in a war while sparring, unless you like to spar like I did. Wars are'nt always the way. Being that you are new, I recommend trying to use your feet more than your fists. Both sides, both ways, feinting and most importantly using that jab. Use your right hand to catch and block only and educate that left hand. As far as the headaches go, what can I say. You didnt sign up for golf. But good job with standing strong.....................Rockin'
