      Pretty much this

but I have to ask, what makes you fearful of creatine? I personally take it, so I want to know your thoughts on it.

yeah majority of the protein shakes around dont have creatine in them. i use optimum nutrition and gaspari nutrition.

the first 6 months i started lifting i didnt take any protein drinks or supplements and went from 120/125 to 145/150.

creatine is a harmless supplement and is something that our body naturally has. unless you're one of the rare cases that may feel some random side affect from it then i don't see why you wouldn't want to use it. everyone will have their preference and do what's right for you.

        good luck man

If you've started you'll be able to make gains without protein shakes, creatine or any other supplement.

When you find you've hit a plateau in several months time then you might consider using something, but even then it's not essential IMO.

I've been weight-lifting for some time. I got the weight I wanted without anything at all.
Just eat... don't waste your $$, unless you're in a bodybuilding competition.

All creatine does is bloat your cells with water which allows you to workout for a longer period of time. It should be cycled, like any other supplement, and you lose the water weight you gain off of it rapidly. There is nothing wrong with taking creatine while boxing unless you have to make weight within 1-2 weeks. My suggestion, cycle it effectively because it does have its perks, and when you are scheduled to fight, cycle off and allow your body time to drop back down to your normal weight. It isn't going to put 10lbs on you considering all of the cardio your body gets from boxing, but it will give an extra 3-5lbs which you will sweat/spit/and piss out in no time.

If you're ectomorph you could be looking at a long time to put mass on, otherwise it's easier but as others said creatine isn't a must even so. Just be sure to hydrate, watch your protein intake and don't forget that if you want to gain mass higher intensity work-outs are best. Fewer reps with more weight.

Shouldn't be an issue, I've been lifting for a month and put on about 5lbs allready, just lift big, and eat a lot of high protein, low fat foods
