In all honestly the above poster speaks some truth, surely if you was opening your own gym you would know what and what it doesn't need?

great idea about the weights. the lack of weights is on reason i am reluctant to join a boxing gym. make sure you have a squatrack though.

1: Mirrors, floor to ceiling or atleast 7ft tall
2: Blank space on walls for posters, tournament information, quotes, photos, things you think will help clear mental space, focus a wayward mind or give information to someone whos seeking it, this may include, technical breakdowns of certain kinds of punches, perhaps explanations of the advantages and disadvantages of certain techniques eg infighter, counter punching, shoulder roll defense, also u may want to have some nutritional information up or some example home training schedules
3: Bags, Different Weights of each kind of bag (Heavy bags, Speed bags, Double end bags, slip bags, Combo dummy (preferably one with posable extremities), Wall mounted or hanging angled bags for uppercuts
4: Weights, free weights, resistance bands, power punch set ups (elastic resistance thingy's), plyometric devices, leg and hand weight straps.
5: Rings, hopefully 2 atleast, full size, and maybe an octogon if ur going to head into mma
              6: Medicine Balls, Kettle Balls,
7: Radios? Tv's? Videos of fights or pro's training? perhaps inspiring documentarys on athletes or those who have over come adversity
8:Clothing, simple T-Shirts with the gym logo will insipre a loyalty and respect for the gym, enforce a strict code of conduct whilst representing the gym, u kud have sweat bands etc aswell.
9: try and set up a discount service from your local supplier when buying through the club. this will get money your way if u know how to get ur hustle on.
10: Full sized changing rooms, lockers (rent?) showers? Kitchen facilities for those who are spending hours on end training?
              11: Medical supplies
12: A Good relationship with other clubs, set up guest sparring between advanced members from clubs to come to yours and vice versa,
13: Make sure there are plenty of windows and air circulation/ purification.
              14: Parking??
15: other athletic training items eg velcro bands for inside drills, cones for agility and footwork, perhaps a light board for reflexs and hand eye coordination, i also came up with an idea for training the agility, spatial awareness and mental focus of a fighter recently using an area of floor with numbers squared out on it, for example 3 fighters enter the space while a coach calls out a number between 1 and 50 lets say, the fighters are shaddow boxing and constantly listening/watching for the opening, he calls out a equation (simple at first) 6 + 24 or something and then a combo for example 1, 1, 2, left hook, the first fighter on number 30 and completed the combo wins, in this way u get to work on spatial awarness of the ring and the other fighters. (your opponent, the referee (the other boxer)) aswell as your foot work, agaility, hand speed, and mental clarity so as to avoid a kind of 'fog of war' situation comonly experienced during an adrenaline rush in a fight.

hope this helped a bunch, lemme know if ud like any more help from me with other excersies etc u kan also find me on youtube same account name
Agree with all of the above

Sonny Liston's favourite was I think..."Night Train". He used to do routines to it in his exhibitions.

Have a lot of sparring sessions in your trainings, especially with the better guys. Also always split the group up in weight if you guys go sparring. A good ring is important. Also have a youth group to get some boxers for the future. I think bags and all that equipment is not even that important. Just a good lesson with a lot of controlled sparring is the best.
