  • protein shake/soreness question

I'm trying to lose weight here and I began working out saterday and I been really sore but I worked out today also. I want to know if protein shakes could help me with my soreness or would it be the wrong way to go since I'm trying to lose weight.

If I'm going the wrong way what could I do about my soreness problem because I really don't want to sit out four days of not doing anything. Btw I'm 240lb and 5"11 I been working with my heavybag/sit ups/lifting weights and pads with my friend. Any tips or anything I would greatly appriciate thanks.

Protein shakes will help with soreness, yes.

Also to answer your question about it making you gain weight, no.

Gaining weight is a matter of consuming more calories than you can burn off.

So to lose weight you simply have to eat less. And Whey Protein shakes are usually low in calories and carbohydrates anyway.

So yeah protein shakes will be fine, but make sure you are getting protein from actual food too. Things like Chicken Breast, Turkey Breast, Tuna etc. Meats that are lean and low in fat.

If you want to look for something additional for recovery, try this and drink after your training sessions/workouts

Well if your goal is weight loss probably better just to mix a scoop or two with water and some fruit like Strawberries or Blueberries.

          No need to add sugar.

As far as brands I'd go with Dymatize, Optimum or Isopure (if you are carb conscious)

isopure is good, myoplex is real good and if u can find Apex brand they are phenomenal...the advice given tho is correct and good protein is what repairs ur muscles they are sore due to lil tears in them he was right in saying tho mix it w water if ur tryna lose weight know it tastes more like **** but gotta liv w it sorry lol as he said tho add some fruit and even a small bit of yogurt or somethan w few calories...i dont ever like taking out carbs of a diet as thats ur fuel as Ground said its all about burning more calories than u eat thats all u truly need to worry about is Calories..

Make sure you don't wait more than 30 minutes after your workout when you take the shake or it's useless.
