And plenty of dudes at the gym i have seen go for a run to lose some extra weight and they run down the sidewalk... I do it 3 days a week usually, so all I am saying is, no matter on a school track, an asphalt track/road, or on the sidewalk, running for me is the same... a good question though, what about a dirt road?
i did a marathon earlier this year in scranton and about 10 miles in theres a 3 or 4 mile dirt section that went through a park. the section didnt feel like a break but it was defiantly easier on my legs.

id say it depends on how much gravel there is. if there is alot of gravel alot of your forward motion goes into moving the gravel backwards while remaining balanced so you have alot of wasted energy similar to having a front and rear suspension on a road bike how when you pedal alot of your energy goes into compressing the springs. but a smooth dirt road would defiantly be better then an asphalt one.

Guess that might be part of the reason lots of fighters go to rural places when they train for fights...

could be, theres plenty of reasons why a fighter chooses where he trains like climate and altitude so its not going to be the only reason a fighter goes to a rural area but it could be part of it.

I've tried a treadmill a couple of times and I ended up feeling like a hamster. If I'd be in your place with a track close to my place I'd pick the track. Not too much joints damage and the best advantage of it all, nice fresh air while you are moving and actually going somewhere, even if it's a sort of nascar loop

You act like you know me, and no, once again i was not saying its the same to run on a track as a sidewalk, so just stop trying to put words in my mouth because i know what Im talking about. I could care less what anyone else says because Ive always felt fine from running on the sidewalk, aside from a few aches and pains here and there, but if your afraid of that than you shouldnt be boxing. While I agree running on a track is alot better, I disagree that you cant run on a sidewalk the same, because Ive actually done it/still do it. Dont get all pissy with me little girl, because of something that I do different with my training. Im sorry that I can handle running on the sidewalk.. And im sure alot of other mother ****ers on here do it too... Just stop crying because you know that your arguement is incorrect, like usual. You hold grudges with people on a forum who you dont even know, probably because you cant talk **** to people for real.. So keep posting but youre just wasting your time, cuz ive already proved my point, and im not gonna keep arguing about it with somebody who obviously fails to recognize hes not always right.
I'm not wrong about running on cement. Several studies have proven it. If you do it long enough you'll find out the hard way. And What point did you prove? That you're a jackass who has so much pride that he'd purposely do something to hurt himself to prove how tough he is over just admitting that he's wrong. Since you like purposely inflicting bodily harm upon yourself, why you get a hammer and bash your face in. You'd be doing us all a favor.
